I see DAvid Crag has managed to get a few kids pissed on Kestrel lager and make them perform for the cameras again... a mong in a pink shell suit ain't cool anywhere outside of Pennywell.

Shame, he'd be a great signing. I think that's us done if we don't get him, and I can't see us wasting our time anymore to be honest. Defoe to me would be a great back-up signing, but it'll be left to the likes of Stoke or Sunderland to take the punt and get a decent deal. Believe me, he'll want to get out of there before winter hits!!!!

The words sound as if you're agreeing with me, in which case I don't understand the laughing faces.

Not that I'm aware of, but I do leave my front door open at night in hope <ok>

I feel worse about our chances than the season we were almost relegated, the squad just looks poorer to me. I don't think we will get relegated, because I don't think we're one of the three worst, but I think mid-table is a far cry from where we are at the moment!

I agree with you fella. Mr T went in dry on me last night and now I'm lower than a limbo dancing ant.
If HBA goes to West Ham it will be shocking. Fat Sam and the porn peddlars will motivate him and he will get them at least 10 points this season. They will also cease to be one of our relegation rivals.
So we'll get rid of MYM (our only CB with years ahead of him), HBA (our most creative player) sign no one and Pardew has his excuse all ready made... 'couldn't get Messi over the line blah blah blah....'.
Completely convinced are are in a relegation dogfight now.

Don't worry, I'm not agreeing with you, at all. Spurs spent a significant outlay on a "world class" signing and insisted on playing him in a new formation, as frequently happens when a club spends a significant amount on a "top player", freezing Defoe out. Defoe scored goals consistently, still, when played, and if you look at their board posts from that time, the vast majority wanted Defoe to start instead, or them to change to the 4-4-2 more commonly used under Redknapp to use him.

I think it's a bit odious to suggest a player's not good enough because people subsequently sacked from Spurs deemed him surplus to requirements. We aren't Spurs. We don't spend 100 million every two years. Negredo doesn't get a game at City, if he was offered to us on a silver platter there wouldn't be enough tissues in your house to stem the resulting creamy tide.

Not that it really matters, as we won't sign Defoe <ok>

Update on this. West Ham are being linked with Morgan Amalfitano on twitter. Maybe I'm just being presumptuous, but I think this would be instead of HBA

Robin Bairner ‏@RBairner 6m
Morgan #Amalfitano could yet move to West Ham, RMC report. Still suggestions that Saint-Etienne an option for him. #WHUFC

It'll be instead of Diame surely, who they're sending to Hull?

I quite like Diame so I don't understand that, unless he has medical issues.

I made my assumption based on the fact both Hatem and Amalfitano play right mid and can play through the middle.

like you I'm unsure on why Diame is leaving though <ok>

Diame will be cheap won't he, does he not have a 3.5m release clause? Strange player. Seems to have great physical capacity, and a fair bit of talent. Very lazy though and seems to play entirely for himself instead of the team. I suppose Allardyce got Song and has plenty of options.

I really can't see us signing anyone. Who was the last first team player to sign for us on deadline day? I think we will rue not getting a striker and at least one defender. I say we will rue it, Mike will only be bothered if mid table is not achieved.

Defoe is apparently demanding £90k/week from QPR. Pretty sure that also rules us out of the running

Who is going to score goals for us? If we don't get someone in I fear it will be a horrific struggle this season.

I despise Craig. Can someone not bring a pack of starving staffies down there and turn them loose on him?

Riviere and SDJ might get a few after 6 months or so once they get up to speed. Problem is the fans would have turned on them by then and we'd be firmly entrenched in a relegation battle.

Aye its all on Aarons really <laugh>

sounds like nastasic by all accounts.... would love to have kept mym (especially ahead of saylor) but he was probably the biggest case of pardewed in our whole squad, went from next france captain to a nobody...but oh well I think nastasic is an incredibly good signing he was great for city under mancini

They should send him to Pennywell with 10 cases of Kestrel lager and 1000 Lambert & Butler. He's be ripped apart in seconds.

From the Sunderland Echo....

NEWCASTLE United’s Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has arrived in Italy to sign for AS Roma.

The defender, set to sign join the club on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent move, was pictured at leaving a Rome airport this afternoon.

Yanga-Mbiwa, sidelined with an ankle problem, has found first-team opportunities hard to come at United by over the past 18 months.

Newastle must now sign a replacement for the 25-year-old before tonight’s transfer deadline.
