I just think that Evans and to some extent Mick are burying their heads in the sand and hoping for the best! This squad is one of the weakest in the division in terms of squad depth and there is no plan B when plan A doesnt work as is clearly evidenced by the poor performance against Wigan. Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely delighted with how this season has gone so far but we are in real danger of watching it all go tits up for the sake of a couple of new faces. If ever there was a time to take a calculated risk then surely it is now given our league position.
Lmao, you should read all the comments on twtd, what a bunch of doom mongers!! Oh hold on, i see one of ours is on there moaning, yes the one that normally rips **** out of people moaning on twtd!!
I've been keeping my powder dry up til now that's the difference Spanish! You relish the times when we lose it's the only bloody time you come on here!
No moves yet ...........good we don't need anyone......the first half of the season has proven that our team is among the best in this division.
Really warky, lmao, not that old chestnut, would say everyone else would say that is bullshit!! Actually, may i just point out, WE DID NOT LOSE!!! Was just pointing out that you slate twtd and the moaners on there but you are one of them You couldnt make it up!!
So you reckon Weighty that Murphy is going to get over 30 for the season then? We've got no one else that can score only Berra and the odd one from Smithy! Yipee!
Cardiff have just Snapped up Eoin Doyle from Chesterfield for £750K much too rich for our blood I would imagine!
Who cares who Cardiff have bought, i think Sears will score goals, so not worried about Doyle, not as if we were ever after him!!
Have to say i am slightly confused as earlier in this thread, warky said 'if Murphy gets injured, we are fooked' yet on another thread he put 'I think you should stop being a Drama Queen Westy! Murphy has a slight calf strain and will be back next week and we have Dids back today with Sears and Hunt we have plenty of striker options. Either we have enough cover or we dont!!
So should we drop Murph because he won't score anymore once he reaches 22 .....no reason why he can't score 12 goals between now and the end of the season. Not purposely winding anyone up ......just the sky sports induced belief that you can only succeed by buying players in a frenzy that amazes me, what's wrong with coaching the players you have.
Kinda agree weighty, i would like to see Clarke sometime soon!! I also actually think Murphy will get more than 25 goals and Sears will score quite a few, IF HE IS BLOODY PICKED OF COURSE!!
Weighty, my concern with the squad is that it's one of the smallest in the league, particularly for a team now with a realistic chance of promotion. We have a lot of games coming up, very important games at that, and our recent form is clearly affecting some of our players, including a loss of form. Now I don't think we should go all out on a squad overhaul, or bring in several new players, but then again I've never said that and I don't think I've seen anybody else saying advocating that extreme measure. However, we don't need to necessarily 'splash the cash' and go for broke, at this stage of the season, we clearly need to bring in some fresh blood on loan. Creativity in midfield, a consistent threat down the wings, and possibly some cover at right-back, are positions we should be targeting to improve while we have time.
It doesn't bother about the small squad I think it could be a positive...... ....surely a manager that leaves things to the last few hours on deadline day is not a very good manager at all..panic panic one move could trigger more moves ...exciting tune in to sky......a footballer is only any good if you've only just signed him....crazy.
" I think Sears is an ideal impact sub for the rest of this season " Got a feeling it's going to be Murphy and Sears ultimately up top. That said, could Mick change the shape slightly and go back to three uptop with McGoldrick / Sears out wide one wonders?
