Saido Berahino isnt very happy I see. Spitting his toys out of the pram at the club that saved him, backed him, and made him. The Burundi-Born soon-to-be multi millionaire. I do sypmathise It will work out better for him in the end because Arsenal will be in come January after Wengers thrown the league away again with his failure to attract a world class goalscorer, defensive mid and defensive leader, so the January £25m panic buy will see Saido there.
£25 million for Berahino is laughable, the money these very average player's can cost nowaday's is ludicrous. Next they'll be telling me Andy Carroll will fetch £40 million during one of these window things the belly has to fall out of it all someday.
The kid is a proper talent and proper goalscorer- he will surprise many of you once he does get into the top sides. You look at some of the prices paid -Henderson (£20m) Carroll (£35m), Sterling (£49m) and actually I'd say Berahino is about the right price. Anyone who can score 14 goals in a WBA side that struggles to string 3-4 passes together needs looking at twice
I'm nearly happy we didn't sign anyone so we can get rid of Wenger.don't get me wrong the guy is a legend but it's sinnful we havnt strengtened In the areas mentioned by toppy above.his obsession with small technical players has got us nowhere.we only know how to play one way and which teams have sussed out like west ham on the opening day of the season.time for a new man with new ideas.enter sir Barney chuckle!
If he's the only silly sod with 'new ideas' then the sport of horseracing is doomed.........................
The only thing that would happen to Berahino at a top club would be that he would warm the benches for a while before taking a move back down. Scott Sinclair, Jack Rodwell...Berahino is a carbon copy waiting to happen. Don't get excited by the media blowing another 'prospect' out of proportion TC. Yes, he will achieve a big fee as sadly that is the way the games transfers have sky rocketed in recent years, can't blame him for taking as much as he can get but that doesn't change the fact that at West Brom he has found his level. The whole thing of having to have a quota of English players in your squad now has added almost double the value to these over hyped players. The quality of the EPL is shocking recently.
Agree sth, quality in the EPL has gone backwards big time.Wouldn't be suprised if the four English teams are gone by quater finals of the champions league
I asked a friend of mine recently, an Arsenal mad fan what if Wenger goes and then the next guy in makes a pig's ear of it and they start missing out on Champions league etc. A new manager means new style of play, different man management, training methods, transfer targets...Wenger may not be bringing the trophies recently but it could get ugly without him. On the other hand, it could work out. It was just a hypothetical question to see what he thought. By the way, he still wanted him out as well.
Charlie Austin 7/1 to be top Championship goalscorer this season...........I guess the bookies are thinking still that he may only be in there for half a season. On the Chaz subject, I think it is shameful that he has been left out of this England squad, whats different to last time....oh yeah, he is no longer in the twatty ****ing Premiership!
I would say 7-1 is a decent bet. The bet is really will QPR be within touching distance of promotion by mid January, for if they are they are unlikely to risk promotion for perhaps £5m tops. Austin himself may not wish to transfer at that point as he would know he could negotiate a big signing on fee that summer as a free agent. On the other hand if they are mid table and going nowhere then whatever they get is good business as in the summer it will be Zero. I predict they will be around 6th place and in with a shout come January and so will keep him. I have never bet on football but I know there are worse 7-1 bets. Jordan Rhodes at 16-1 isn't terrible either.
It's hard to say what QPR will do. First impressions early on this season were very unfavourable, but looked a bit better lately. Defence seems to have been strengthened by recent loan signing of a good player from Watford (what were Watford doing here, maybe the guy has an ingrown toenail, or something?). It's been easy to blame goalkeeper Rob Green too, but he had precious little cover at the beginning of the season. He's still a fair goalkeeper, however, and they do have cover now with the signing from Huddersfield. Interesting, but I won't be surprised whatever happens. To be a QPR fan, you have to be immune to earthquakes, hurricanes, falling rocks, and all sorts of catastrophes.............. Finally, on Charlie Austin, I am indeed surprised he did not go to Crystal Palace, maybe Rainer can explain where I went wrong here? As for the SkyBet (?) 4/7 the other day to go to ManU, that was absolute bullshit, no hindsight either. They were trying to get an easy 7k from the likes of little old me. It ain't that easy, in fact it ain't easy at all!
Being English and not being in the premiership should be a good thing for England. It means he will be playing regularly.
