    I think there is a chance that if we sign Barnetta - especially in light of the way the Erdinc and Long links have been killed off - we won't sign a striker for more than £4m, bearing in mind we will have to sign a left back.


    Cameron Jerome could be a likely target....

    Maybe this is what we've all overlooked this transfer window? As a result of that deal we are actually getting Martin Caceres, Abel Hernandez and Cazorla to fill the striking, left back and right midfield problems. I'm excited now.

    I expect us to sign a RW and a LB, but I don't think that we will get a striker now.

    Pardew has probably got a left back lined up for when/if Enrique leaves, but I get the feeling that he has to wait until Jose has gone before Ashley will let him spend.

    I would not be surprise to see a RW brought in now that Routledge has gone and Barton is no longer part of the squad, as we do not have an out and out RW in the squad.

    Looking at the strikers, we still have Ba, Best, Shola, Lover, Ranger and now Sammi. We may play 4-4-2 but if Pardew decides on playing a lone striker with either HBA, Vuckic, Marveaux or Abeid playing off them, then I cannot see Ashley allowing money to be spent on another striker unless we sell one or two of our existing ones.

    Lee Ryder is reporting we have enquired about Obertan, not sure on this one he looked class before he went to ManUre but has never really been given a chance

    What wages is he on? If we pay him as much as Barton it defeats the whole idea of selling him.

    god we could be ****ed some the begining of the season in terms of depth casley needs to buy atleast 3 more 1st team player which would not be enough anyway to cover for injuries and thts even unlikely to happen...we need barnetta to be wrapped up as soon as possible...on a more positive note though apparently barnetta is keen on the move? possibly wants the challenge of the pl

    To be honest we don't know what bids have and haven't been accepted. Its just been "reports" or Pardew saying "we're making progress". We've never confirmed any bid has been accepted. And to be fair to them I don't see why we should know. I do believ putting in a bid for a player which involves him taking a wage cut is a spurious and fake bid. but we only have this agents word for that.
