on paper this looks like a game town should win but football is not like that and town have a habit off slipping on banana skins . Tranmere have won 2 , drawn three and lost five with nine points they are twentieth in the table but only four points behind town. so if we dont wont to drop down the table a win is important. we cant overlook how our team whent in to there shells after the second goal against Fleetwood or how poorly our defence did in that game. an early goal by town whould help settle the nerves so far this season town have taken some time to get back in the game after conceeding a goal. so a clean sheet and some goals whould be a boost. i would like to see Goss playing higher up the park and Vincelot coming on as a sub, Pierre came on for injured landell who was holding his hamstring , a concern is that Pierre was not fully fit last week. we have got to do better on the left side as we have conceeded a number of goals from that side.
mixed news on the injury front Ebanks Landell has a hamstring injury and will be out for some time. the good news Pierre is fully fit and Okenabirhie has returned to full training
town made a slow start but going after 15 minutes when they started to move the ball around, comentators feel Tranmere defence is not that mobile.lang had two half chances. Payne shoot well saved .Lang seems to have credited with the goal from a pierre shoot. town had a good spell but unable to captalize on the goal. Tranmere finished strongly but then get a player red carded can make somthing of the extra player against a tranmere team who have shown they are more than capable of coming back from a goal down. town seem to have given a lot of corners away they need to stay sarp and give a soft goal away.
town creating chances but frustratingly not able to score , a goal lone clearence frevented Pierre from getting a goal, Beckles volley was saved and norburn hit thepost . a number of good performances by towns players who worked hard to get an important away win. i thought udo and lang played well together, i hope Langs injury was not to serious as he limped off , Norburn was impressive in midfield. and two good saves from O'leary. ,Tranmere nearly spoilt the party in extra times..
https://www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2019/october/sam-ricketts-post-tranmere-rovers/ " Lang was replaced by Fey after picking up a knock to his ankle. "He's half-rolled his ankle and half-heard it click. We'll have to send him for an X-Ray, hopefully just as a precaution. Hopefully, he's OK, if not, we've got some excellent players who didn't start and didn't get on the pitch today either."
