Popped down to Llandarcy today with my daughter to watch the lads at work for the first time this season. Not as good as it used to be because they have attached a fine gauge green mesh to the chain link fencing, which makes it almost impossible to see through.
The gate was open, though, so we stood in the entrance and watched. The only trouble is the players were at the far end and I needed binoculars to clearly identify individuals. I could see the plays quite clearly however and the accent seemed to be on five a sides, moving the ball quickly with shots at goal fairly raining in. It seems to me that Laudrup is looking to improve the general finishing ability of the squad because there were far more shots than usual in this type of training module. It was all high intensity stuff and Laudrup was on pitch side directing operations.
I couldn't identify him at first but Huw Jenkins was standing nearby busy on his phone. When he had finished, I said hello and he pointed ML out to me when I asked. We chatted a bit about Landore and Fairwood and a few other things including the "revolt" but I assumed he wouldn't want to go into detail about it, so I didn't press him.
All in all, I enjoyed it and it was good to see the players working hard with a lot of enthusiasm. Oh, and on a side note, I spotted a beautiful red Ferrari in the car park with Spanish plates. Don't know the owner but I'm guessing it could be Pablo's wheels although, equally, it could belong to any of the other Spanish lads. Hard life isn't it? Getting paid to play football and rocking around in a Ferrari when you're not.
