I live close to the Staplewood training ground and pass it on my way to work at about 7am every morrning. Today when I passed it all three entrances to the site had two guards at the gates wearing yellow over jackets with Security Team written on their backs. It would appear they were not letting the building workers into the ground. Passed it on the way home at 4pm no sign of the Security men only the players making their way to their cars. The building site was dead quiet. Im sure the Echo will pick up the reasons why!!
There was a JCB moving around there at 3:30ish today. If it wasn't a building contractor, then I can only imagine it was one of the catering staff feeding Jaidi his tea.
the building company are called leadbitter and according to someone close to the action i know i can tell you they havent been paid ,over a million is owed .cortese has a habbit of not paying and is well known through the southampton buissness comunity for it.they also owe another contractor for the channon suite refurb and other contractors for other works at the stadium.most local restuarants detest the man and dont welcome his custom .now i am not saying sfc are skint just cortese does not like paying.all the bad things you hear about him are true he can be a complete twat!!.
any company is within their rights to with-hold either staged or final payments, if the client feels the work carried out is either not to their specification or agreed timescales. But what do I know. I'm gonna take the word of the local rag of a newspaper or a nobody on an internet forum instead. If you can't trust a them, who can you trust?
thats true ,if the terms of the contract have not been kept up by either side then its stalemate ,just hope it gets sorted as cortese is not looking good and will struggle to get contractors to carry out anything if he gets labled as a bad payer.
Doubt it. Contractors always need work and I've never known a sizeable contract to be turned down just because they think the client might be a bad payer.
i know a lot of contractors who are very concerned over bad payers and request large deposits and bank checks ,also a lot of suppliers have shrunk a lot of peoples credit terms for equipment so the larger projects are liable to stop a lot quicker nowadays than before the recession.tthere has been a request put out for more refurb work at the stadium and a few contractors refused to quote.
I'm sure it'll be completed before the PRE please log in to view this image Bare in mind this photo was taken two years ago apparently and it's STILL not finished.
