many seem to be warming to the new gaffer - was watching the everton game at 7am here in oz with a bowl of muesli and a cuppa and the consensus from the ladies was 'HE IS SO EASY ON THE EYE' so there it is that came from a Man U season ticket holder here on a visit her mother a Pomxxy supporter and the high command the wife - there seems to be a gathering consensus - happy days hopefully ahead !!

For me, it was relief. The players came out & worked hard & were ultra professional. They took the sting out of the evening, credit to them. Still feel bad for Nige, but I'd like us to build on what we have done so far then reflect at the end of the season. Stakes are high, still.

Calling following the saints media team on twitter "hunting" is generous! But yeah it's useful to have it all copied here I guess <laugh>

Starting to think this is not really a training camp, they're getting a tour of Camp Nou, they're just a bunch of tourists!

I know Barcelona are good and all but there is something kind of cringeworthy about your club touring their stadium...

I'd imagine we're trying to build connections whilst we are there. There'll be loads going on aside from training. I bet the gaffer is flat out.

All very well, but forming a partnership with the tour guide might not prove too productive.

    Cynical? Me?

come on PTF... it's not touring, it's called "acclimatisation". So when we visit there season after next, a lot of the team would have been there already and won't be in awe. They'll just concentrate on defending the 3 nil lead from the semi-final first leg

I doubt any team would visit Barcelona without going to Camp Nou...surely more relevant and interesting than taking them to the Sagrada Familia.

I think Moe Po has made a good call doing that. He obviously needs to get to know the squad, so what better way than taking them to the Camp Nou & reliving stories of his amazing under-dogs against top dogs.......
.....actually it does seem like a bit of a holiday!

I think it's a part training, part scouting, part team-building/morale-building mission. Bit of warm(er) weather training, sneaky look at some Spanish players, and also a nice little way to let the players and Pochettino get to know each other a bit and get the squad nice and happy, they've dealt with the change professionally but must still have been unsettling and upsetting slightly.

The more I think about it my initial shock around the timing of this change is being replaced with a real admiration for the planning of NC. He announced Nigels demise giving us fans three days to get used to the idea and by the Everton game the early howls of protest had mostly subsided. He then has a 10 day break in which MP can get to know the squad etc before an away game which we all expect to lose. Cunning!

Yeah it's just the guided tour that strikes me as a bit funny. Like their reward for getting knocked-out of the cup is a school trip. Suppose I shouldn't begrudge them a bit of sight-seeing.

Camp Nou more relevant than the Sagrada Familia certainly, but personally I doubt it's more interesting! Love that Gaudi stuff.

I'm guessing the guided tour is more mandatory then a choice by us, I doubt you can just stroll in and wander round Camp Nou on your own accord.

I've been there for a look around without having a guided tour. Maybe you don't get to see as much but you certainly can do it (or at least you could then).

I wonder if they'll see the Estadi Cornella-El Prat as well (where Espanyol play)? From pictures it looks like a slightly larger version of St. Mary's.

Love the Gaudi houses...but was not so fond of the Sagrada Familia at first. The outside is interesting but ugly and the inside wasn't finished on my first visit. Went again last year and the inside which is plainer is spectacular.

Yeah like you I visited before when the inside wasn't accessible, and again more recently when we could go inside, and I was blown away by it. It's so different to any other cathedral I've seen, so full of light and colour. Spectacular is right.

Nice to see the kit man still has a job and is on the plane! Although I notice that since we got promoted to the Championship and Prem, there is no time for his Tommy Cooper impersonations on player any more!
