Yeah that’s them. Forest hill Adidas originals. I’d rather the red and black sole but you just can’t find them.

Forest Hills originals were actually gold stripe though pal.

So, not original but a twist on the old theme!

Nice though, always liked them. Although at the time I bought Puma Guillermo Vilas!

These are my old crates. They’ve been brilliant and I must have done over 1000 miles in these, using them from everything from hiking, dog walking and general everyday use.

The actual shoe is in fairly decent nick, which is rare for me as I usually completely trash the uppers. But sadly the lugs are worn almost flat and I’m starting to slip on rocks and gravel in these now.

Will just keep them for pavement wear and treat myself to a new set of wheels for my Snowdon trip <ok>

These Conti soles that Adidas are using are excellent and last for miles. Only problem as you touch on is their uppers are probably even better and/or don't wear down at a similar rate for obvious reasons. I've got some Ultra Boost runners with Contis underneath and Prime Knit uppers. The soles are unfortunately getting flat now but the knit is looking in great shape. Top runners, somewhat expensive but worth it. They're still fine for pavements and general use as you say.

Those Pharrell Terrex posted a page or so back are sick and I would get a pair if I hadn't got some Columbia boots towards the end of last summer so I don't need any more

Yeah they are the best/grippiest soles I've ever had. Which makes me reluctant to come away from them. I'd go straight in and get another pair of those Terrex Swift or AX3 I think they are now, with the Conti soles, but the only thing that lets them down slightly is that they are so stiff out of the box, and it takes a while to wear them in. Probably why the uppers last to long tbh.

If I was convinced those Traxion soles offered as much grip in the wet I'd jump on a pair with those on instead.

The boots surprised me with the grip if I’m honest, I clambered up rock faces in them and they were secure.

I think being the forum mod it’s your duty to find the thread. It needs resurrecting. <ok>
Unless you can remember exactly what the thread was called it’s needle in a haystack stuff, and you’ll have to start another one.
