Bought a pair of Timbs when I went to Spain a couple of years ago. Not that comfortable though, and gave me blisters on the top my feet (where the outer lace comes inside the leather)

That’s what pissed me off - spending good money on a poorly designed product. Like my old Jaguar XJ6, where water collected in the battery shelf, so you’d pull out in the morning and get your feet soaked.

I’ve still got them though (the shoes, not the Jag) I just have to remember to rub a bit of Vaseline on my foot where the tongue meets the lace.

They probably sorted it eventually anyway.

Yeah mine are absolutely fine and I did read a load of reviews before buying them. Most of the reviews were "I've been wearing these for 50 years and won't wear anything different" etc. etc.

I know where you mean though as the rope goes through in one piece and does slightly touch the top of your foot. It hasn't rubbed me though and they're really comfy.

Maybe you've got ****ed feet?

I do like Timberlands though and always have a couple of pairs, but this was the first pair of timberland boat shoes I've owned. I like the fact the sizes are classed as wide or normal and they always go up in halves. I've got wide feet so it works well. Size 8 wide, fits like a glove.

I used to be a Postman, so yeah, my feet are ****ed. Plus I'm an 11.5 but very hard to get half sizes so end up with size 11s that pinch, or 12s that are like boats. Last pair of Timberland boots I owned, I had to wear 2 pair of socks.

Got a pair of Timberland boat shoes, they're top quality.

Mine are like these, not identical though as mine don't have white stitching. The soles are also black.

They're not summer shoes though, they're more, shall we say, autumnal.

Yeah the 3 hole ones are definitely more an autumn shoe. The 2 hole ones like mine are much more lightweight and perfect for summer evenings.
