In front of about 1000 fans town play tranmere.

Town had a good first 10 minutes but tranmere took the lead against the run of play after a corner where their #10 scored and looked like he wasn't covered.

Well its half time. Town looked a tad lost for the last part. Good possession that led nowhere. Tranmeres number 11, possibly Andy Robinson??, controlled everything well for them.

New kit looks good BTW.

Town two nil down due to ball slipping past Sharps for a player to strike on goal

Leslie, Jacobson and goldson subbed on and it seemed to change things. Leslie provided some cracking crosses.

Overall tranmeres defense coped with our attacks and they cut through ours only a few times.

Very disappointing display. The centre of the defence was very poor particularly Hazell. The centre midfield were often outpaced by a fast breaking Tranmere team. I was impressed by Morgan. Unlike Harrold he won't hold the ball up but will lay it off and he is blessed with quite surprising pace. The forwards and wide midfield looked OK and got into some decent positions (Ainsworth always looked the most threatening).

Tranmere are a much better side than at the same stage last year but I am not convinced that we are any better judging by this performance.

sounds as though uncle graham will need all the next 7 days to improve in defence, midfield and up front. but tranmere are in a higher league. time for more team bonding at fairbourne sands, i still approach the season with confidence, but i suspect there may be a few occasions where we may have to drown our sorrows in the loggerheads

I expected Mighty Marvin to be in the Akinfenwa mold but how wrong I was. He's like a beanpole and any luck he'll be banging them in.

Mighty Marvin ....i don't think that name will stick, i didn't think much of him when he came here and i don't think much of him now..far too lazy and mouthy...bloody get stuck in Marvin....... and shut it!!

It was a poor performance and Tranmere were generally quicker and stronger. But it was a friendly and they're in a higher league - I'll worry if we're that poor against Plymouth. Some decent performances though - 2 great saves from Smith, SCS was solid at left back, Wroe picked out some great passes and Grandison was a good 2nd half sub (we haven't had many full backs who could ease Showumni off the ball and then play an accurate pass to the halfway line).
