    I remember when there was a pub at the bottom of Meredith Road called the Safe Harbour! It was a right old Dive but then they turned it into an Aldis! <laugh>

    I'm trying to remember the name of the pub that was on the corner of where the buttermarket is now. Opposite side of the street from the bus depot on Buttermarket .
    Used to have pinball tables in the back, or maybe it was a cafe. I was young.

    jesus christ warky! the thomas eldred! We played them at darts years back, we won the first leg 9-0 and turned up for the second leg and their captain told us we wouldn't get out alive if we didn't let them win a game. so we won 8-1!




    we were 8-0 up, but then in the other room some bloke was getting smacked by a pool cue so we thought better lose one!
