Froome was well ahead of Quintana but has lost time through a motorbike crash that wrecked his bike, totally crazy that he is penalised for something out of his control. Yates now leads but the time-trial tomorrow should be a cracker...

I saw that. The crowds are getting worse every year. Twats. Why can't they stay behind te line?

There have been several incidents of collisions between riders and the TV bikes in other races in recent months, those crowd scenes today were really ridiculous not helped by the race finishing short of the normal finish because of the high winds...

They have to do something about these idiots at the side of the road. Correct decision in the end, Froome looking good.

One theory I've heard about this relates to the safety decision to reduce the stage length because of the high winds. People camp along the finish stretch well in advance. Once the finish line changed, on race day, they all came back down the mountain to see it - causing an unusual density of happy, drunk and partying race goers.

Thinking of going myself next year.

Another stage win for Cavendish, brilliantly took out Kittel in the final sprint...

I now believe that Cav will beat the stage win record. Let's hope he wins Paris to make next year easier. We could have the greatest Tour De France rider on our hands. Exciting times!

Froome wins another stage today on top of increasing his lead yesterday. 3 mins 52 secs clear now and only an accident can really stop him winning his 3rd Tour, fantastic achievement...

Got there Ellers! You're right, an absolutely amazing sight up there.

The additional weight of taking the QPR key chain up there was nearly the killing of me.........

I went up 4 days after the TdF went through. A balmy 10kph wind on the day I went up (versus 80 to 100kph on the day of the TdF)!
