where has all this negativity suddenly come from??

ok i havnt been able to watch any of the pre season games but there that pre-season at least were not losing against Irish league teams instead we went over to Holland and remained undefeated.

Defending may not be up to scratch but judging by the brief highlights ive seen we look far more dangerous going forward which is far more important and considering this is the third away game in a row in a time of pre-season when (presumably) fitness is the buzz word it understandable players might be a little tired.

We have a reliable goalscorer now shore up the defence a little bit while play-off maybe out of reach a season in the top half will be achievable, which considering the last two season has to be a realistic ambition i think some people are guilty of wanting everything too quickly.

About loosening the purse strings, it just seems slightly hypocritical that we were praising PJ for getting chopra in for 1.5million and not being made to pay over the odds for sharp but now are accusing him of looking through the bargain bucket

Great post JWM, I remember waiting and getting Mariner's autograph and I'll never forget him stopping in his Silver Porche and leaning out of the windown and signing for me...I still have it somewhere! I was getting quietely confident until the reports from the Cambridge game, thats why its great to get real fans opinions who actually go to games! I look forward to reading the reports on here as they tell me how Ipswich are really performing!

From what i have read I think we can make do with Chops + what we have and desperately need a centre back, I'm from the old school where your foundations are a solid defence, ...sexy football just isn't sexy if you lose 4-3 (even if Chops gets a hatrick!)

    Come on you blue boys!

I understand what JWM is saying, but I couldn't agree more with Rushmere.

Up until Roy Keane joined us nothing but automatic promotion was even worth aiming at - but the Roy Keane-era moved the goalposts. As long as I never have that feeling of shame to be supporting Ipswich then I'm happy to give someone like Paul Jewell as long as he needs. Other things became important when the entire club was being eroded, not to mention that expectations were dramatically lowered.
