Fantastic informitive thread yet again Mr G_ :)

I am bowled over by the detail and fantastic content which seems to be getting better every week !

    on to the game.

Impossible to predict the Swans lately, i was bitterly dissapointed with the Everton game, i was wondering if the players were looking too far ahead to the Spurs game and holding themselves back for it, we will find out tomorrow!

If we play like we did against Everton it will get very messy and we will get hammered. if we are up for it 100% then we can compete, if Spurs are slightly beloew par we may get something, i hope the players take note of todays results and realise that we are still not safe in this league, that may sound crazy to some but im not convinced we are totally safe considering our fixtures to the end of the season.

I would be over the moon with a point tomorrow but the performance and attitude will be just as important for me <ok>

A point will settle our nerves but this will be a tough game as Spurs will want to take advantage of Arsenal's slip up. I think points are going to be at a premium for us from now on in as we have a few games against teams battling for their survival. We are never at our best when teams physically press us, so I hope that Brendan gets the lads up for it. I suspect that the fat lady hasn't even cleared her throat yet.

Think 3-1 flattered Spurs. Bit concerned with Rangel's defending, thought he was more at fault for Adebayor's second, positioning was all wrong, had his back to him. Thought we were in with a decent chance at 1-1, must say some of our passing has been going astray in the last two games.

    Well played, Swans. <ok>
Really good to see two teams that can actually play a bit going for it and trying to win.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

Bale ran Rangel ragged with great speed and power.

No Caulker to stop Adebayor's headers.

Those were the key differences IMO.

Rangel has no real ability to sprint - he struggles to keep up with the pace chasing back most of the time. Against Bale he was always on a hiding to nothing, but so is every right back.

Yep. Rangel outclassed by Bale and severely shown up. Monk! <doh> If Jenkins and Rodgers didn't see the need for a quality CB before they must after today. A truly shocking performance from a player well out of his depth. He looked nailed to the floor at times.

That said, we gave a decent account of ourselves overall, I thought. Spurs are better this year than they have been over the last 10 so it's no disgrace.

Enjoyable game to watch. As with any loss there is a couple of niggles and complaints e.g. refereeing standards in general..Taylor shouldnt have needed to hit the deck to get a penalty when Gallas tried to get a piggy back in the first half and Assou-Ekotto should have seen red. Rangel had yet another nightmare and I think that it was clear that number one signing this summer needs to be a centreback if we cannot obtain Caulker's services again as Monk was just as poor. Disappointed with the end result though but spurs did just enough to deserved the win. Oh well 5 games now where 12 points could be fairly realistic :)

No complaints really bale was the difference 2 soft goals Monk and rangell had mares. On a positive we still tried to play football all the way through and it was nice to hear bale saying they had to work hard for the win and gave us a lot of praise

Cheers PleaseNotPoll - was a great game between two teams intent on playing football the way it should be played <ok> and by the way, we didn't miss Caulker at all today, he's nowhere near the finished product so think you should loan him out to us again next season so he gets regular first team football with a team who match your footballing philosophy! ;)

I don't remember Gallas', was he climbing to win a header or something? Not sure what Ekotto did either. I agree that Marriner had a shocker, barely got anything right all game but he was fairly even handedly incompetant. If you should have had a pen so should have too, I didn't see it at the time but on MOTD you could see when of your players clattered into Bale in the second half.

Anyway it was an enjoyable game, I thought, and once again you gave a very good account of yourselves against us. Good luck with the rest of the season boyos <ok>

Ekotto slid in with a studs up two footed 'tackle', could have been nasty but can't argue with the result - we couldn't cope with Bale who ran us ragged and was a deserved MotM! Disappointed with the result but thoroughly enjoyed the game - football as it was meant to be played! <ok> Two well matched teams - you were just a bit more clinical! But was proud of our lads, they gave as good as they got and if the result was reversed I don't think anyone could have complained!

good game that spurs deserved the victory but we did not let spurs dominate and had a few chances ourselves, spurs had a couple of players that ran our defence ragged and that was our weakest link, we must get our defence sorted for next season and we will be fine......

i watched up to the 60th minute, gareth bale was outstanding, why he went to southampton instead of playing for cardiff i'll never know, spurs were simply better on the day.

graham didnt get much service up front, while spurs pressed high up the pitch, you get nervous when the swans play risky balls around the back.watch barcelona play and teams press them at 100mph early doors and create clear cut chances. key to spurs doing well was their width and pace on the wings...bale back where he can destroy defences, though at times swansea didnt help themselves.

fantastic goal by sigurdsson but tottenham deserved the win <ok>
