Dembele scores three in three - one more and he'll have scored as many as he did in the last two seasons combined!
Because they had a player on the touch line about to take a throw in with a different ball- in other words two players ready to take the throw in and Trippier was engaged with the one that in the end didn't take it. hope that makes sense. was at the game and saw it happen but I don't know if the cameras picked it up. The ref who had been very picky when we tried to take a quick free kick on a couple of occasions should have insisted on re-taking the throw.
I’m still trying to figure out why he hasn’t scored more than seven goals for us. I have the funny feeling it may be because he’s only taken seven shots. If he’d shot as much as Townsend, and vice versa, I think it would have been worth 10 points a year. It’s inexplicable, because he hits the ball so hard with his weak foot it must scare the keeper a little. Nice assist from Son, and even better jump over the shot.
We're playing some really nice football at the moment, but also getting the results. Things seem to be getting better and better. We're also going under the radar too, whilst everyone focuses on Chelsea's poor form, and/or the ****fest at Liverpool. - long may it continue. If I was an opposition fan, I wouldn't want to be playing us right now. I've seen that there's quite a few fans that want to see Son brought straight back into the team for Sunday, but who they think deserves to be dropped is beyond me?! Need to keep the consistency IMO. Coys!!
Not so sure I'd bring Son back in straight away, he looked very rusty last night. Alli had a poorer game last night in the 3. If I was to bring Son back in I'd plop him (Alli) back with Dier and drop Mason who still looks a little off the pace. But as I said no Son for me just yet, just off the bench
Can it be that Dembele as strong as he looks is in fact a large pussy cat who just lives to do what his manager tells him. It would explain his apparent lack of knowing what to do with ball under AVB and his sudden goal surge after MP told him to score more. Don't Dembele
So someone trading on your foot isn't a penalty? Looked soft in real time, I couldn't see how he could stay upright when I saw the replay.
I wasn't aware there was a replay. The referee dismissed it, none of his teamsters appealed. As far as I, and most others saw it, he just flopped over hoping...
They showed it again a few minutes later, because Lamela had to change his boots. The defender clearly caught him and snapped the laces. Wasn't a heavy challenge, but I can see why Lamela went over.
That incident was funny as I was just praising how lamela tries to stay on his feet (it took 2 pretty hefty fouls to put him down vs Villa at one point). The next thing he does is seemingly go down like a sack of spuds. But the replay did vindicate him somewhat.
Best moment of the match (apart from Dembele's goal, of course!)? It has to be the Spurs fans singing immediately afterwards "He's one of your own!" Good to know there's a still some wit around among our cheerleaders!
