I agree. We have a couple left wingers any extra will be a luxury to be honest, we NEED a PROVEN striker.

according to the Sky Sports transfer clockwatch ticker thing, its 4 million bid.

Great player, just might be getting on a bit now, he tore us apart a couple of years ago, just not sure if he is the right signing that we need now, but if MON thinks so who am I to argue.

12 months ago whn we were being linked with him, to a man we all thought this would be a brilliant signing. 1 year on and he hasnt suddenly become a crap player has he? He is just the sort of experienced and skillful player we lack so badly. 29/30 is nothing these days and we could easily get 2 or 3 good years out of him. He is a far, far better player than young McClean right now and since losing Zenden, I feel we have lacked that kind of quality in the midfield tbh.

£4m isnt massive in todays market place and the wages are what they are. Perhaps a deal woth Spurs can be done as we did with Jones to Stoke. They get £4m cash and pay 20k of his wages, thus saving 40K per week as well and we pay a reasonable fee for a very good footballer and maintain our wage structure.

A striker and a defender may well still be added as well.
