Lovely combinations between Sarr and Bergvall Not so lovely combination between Spursplay's technical issues and QPR's camera angle...
World class pass from Kulu there but Werner does what he does best… fluff it. Ref blows for HT straight after.
Scarlett scores within minutes of coming on from a Moore cross, against the run of play if truth be told too, especially as Gunter had made a great save about a minute or two earlier.
Finishes 2-0. Another decent run out and Moore in glimpses impressed again, nice assist for Scarlett and should’ve scored himself. Spence also good as well, showed a bit more of his defensive side in the latter part of the second half. Bergvall was looking really good until his injury, hope it’s nothing serious and was just a precaution. Gunter looked very composed in goal, made a great save right before Scarlett’s goal. Can see why he’s a keeper that the club are excited about.
Yeah the goalkeeper looked very good. Quite a nice, fun game overall in the sunshine. I would say Werner has found his level but he might nick a goal if you’re playing Dagenham or Barnet.
Mikey Moore better get plenty of minutes next season. I don’t want to see the likes of Werner or Solomon deny him game time.
Moore has visibly improved since The Wernmeister joined, just saying. Teaching the youngster everything he knows. On a more serious note, this is exactly why it made perfect sense to take Werner on loan for a year instead of gambling £40m+ on another LW who may or may not turn out to be better than Moore. As things stand, the youngster will get plenty of minutes in the cups this season and, all being well, will replace Werner as #2 in that spot before replacing Son as #1 in two years when the latter's contract ends. #intimowetrust
Just caught up with the highlights. Last week, we learned that Hearts have a seagull infestation. This week, we learned that Loftus Road's camera system is apparently controlled by a 10 year old who has eaten more than enough sweets for one day.
Highlights: QPR's keeper is Paul Nardi, who signed for them on a free last month. He's French and has played for a variety of clubs in his homeland and Belgium. Never really established himself, barring a spell at Lorient, despite being 30.
I watched yesterday (bar 20 minutes in the 2nd half that I slept through), all in all it was a decent work out, with better finishing we could have had 5 but equally QPR had some decent chances and any more than a 2 goal win would have certainly flattered us. Lots to admire but also the same old open style that allows us to be got at far too easily, but considering only 1 recognised centre back played amongst the 4 we employed they did pretty well Both GKs put in a decent shift, but Gunter was particularly good, very calm and assured and his distribution was good too.
