Llorente is worth a punt from someone. Surely Bilbao would rather some cash then lose him on a free next year!!
exactly my thoughts Spurf. I still believe that Dembele is the replacement for VDV (although not necessarily like for like) and moutinho is the replacement for Modric.
Berbatov is a player who I enjoy watching but we're not going to buy him surely? Probably not a Levy buy due to him being the wrong side of 30 and doesn't seem to suit the pressing, AVB style. That said if we got a decent price then I wouldn't be totally against it, people forget he was joint top league scorer when Utd last won the title. However I think it's unlikely in a rational world. But when have Spurs ever been a rational club.........
Porto say that we'd have to pay more than our current transfer record of £16.5m for Moutinho. £16.75m it is, then!
VDV looked like the most creative player in your squad the first 2 games of the season, surprised at this.
[HR][/HR] I'm surprised, also. I can only think that there must be some replacement, hopefully Moutinho, coming in. I can't imagine that we would have allowed him to go, otherwise.
Especially for £10m - I would've thought we could've got that a bit higher. And, in all honesty, he was getting more and more injury prone - plus the whole having to adjust the system to fit him in difficulties. IF we replace him with Moutinho (or someone of similar quality) then this MIGHT be good business. However, when you sit back and consider that our transfer record is just £16.5m (which we nearly hit with Dembele(!)) then I just can't see us getting any of these star players.
I think our midfield is sorted now, with Sig replacing VdV (which looks almost certain now) and Dembele playing deeper and replacing Modric. Personally I'd rather we spent money on a striker or goalkeeper.
Moutinho is a key signing. He is similar to modric who the rest of the players are used to playing with and he's a key cog in the AVB system. Only £8m more than Bentley is a bargain
Adam has gone to Stoke. Really don't want to play them now. We might have to play a team of hard men to combat it - thinking a midfield 3 of parker, livermore and sandro with sandro only in the team to roundhouse kick Adam in the nut.
