I am very uncomfortable about signing someone doing this ****e...give a successful year with us and it'll be us on the receiving end as he demands his dream move to united/city/chelsea etc.
I kind of hope they stand their ground and win...players are taking fans for mugs...if they want to leave then insist on a buy out clause or don't sign long contracts...thought the same with Keane, Modric and Berbatov and dont see any difference with Berahino

Leverkusen director Rudi Voller has confirmed that Son is having a medical, but the deal between the two clubs hasn't been done yet.

Völler - "I saw many medicals in this window where there was no deal after. We'll try to reach an agreement but only under our conditions."

which basically means "levy is trying his old tricks at present, but we're not budging!" <laugh>

I can't believe that Saido unfollowing WBA on twitter has made national news on Sky Sports, ****ing incredible <laugh>.

So Saido unfollows WBA, Wanyama has a stomach bug and Sonny boy is due for a medical which has apparently been confirmed by Bayer Sport Director - Rudi Voller. We love leaving it late don't we? If we nabbed all three, this could arguably be (albeit also frustrating at times) the best window we've had in years!

Welcome back by the way, Roo. We've missed you around here, especially on this transfer thread, good to have you back mate <ok>

So, according to page 1 of this thread, we're £14m in profit so far. If son signs, that'll cancel that out, plus a little bit more spent.

Lennon and Fazio will probably fetch about £10m between them if they go, and it's believed that we'll get £20m from inter if they take Lamela.- Which relies on the current situation with perisic, who is their primary target.

Basically, what I'm getting at, is that I believe any more business after Son will be dependant on sales we make.

Will levy fork out the cash for berahino prior to selling deadwood? Very unlikely imo.
And this is without even considering wanyama, if reports are to be believed.

That's quite a lot to take care of in 5 days and also relies on other clubs.

We might get 1 or 2 in, but I can't help but feel we'll all be saying "why wasn't this done sooner".

I've been ill this week too. That doesn't mean I'm going to be signed by Spur.... hang on...

Levy's just sent me a text to say that he's booked a chartered Megabus to take me to Hotspur Way in the morning <party>

Hope these three transfers go to the wire & you miss out on other targets, that would be very amusing!
Levy won't pay what WBA & Saints want, so lets hope we can string you along for a few more days. <bubbly>

3 players heavily linked with only days to go.

Same old Spurs. At most we will get 1 in.

3/3: will never happen. 2/3: nah, not that either. 1/3: sounds about right. 0/3: coming up on the rail.

At least if what YV says is true, we'll have a backup for Kane. You can play in a 4-2-3-1, can't you YV?

West Brom has withstood the pressure so far, but surely even they will have to crumble in the face of their Twitter unfollowing. What a devastating blow.

Apparently Voller confirmed after the Leverkusen game that son was in London today. Looks like a deal is on the cards....

...cue him holding up a Chelsea shirt tomorrow! <laugh>

This Son thing came completely out of nowhere tbh. Good player from what I've seen of him but far, far too similar to Berahino...surely we can't be looking to bring in both?!

The other problem is that neither of them strikes me as the type to lead the line centrally and on their own, which means direct cover for Kane is still non-existent. The other, bigger problem to my mind is that bringing in Son and Saido will all but rule out a move for Wanyama - I see the latter as a far higher priority than two attacking players.

Either way, it's very reassuring to see that we've learned - 8 transfer windows later - how not to put all our eggs into one basket. I was having nightmares about the Berahino deal going to the wire, collapsing due a broken fax machine at 11.59pm, then waking up the next morning to read that we've landed Carlton Cole on loan.

IMO we need all 3 players. But it will come down to who we can get rid of to free up extra funds. The one thing we pretty much know is that there won't be a net spend. Previous windows are evidence of that.

berahino could be game over now. Would not be at all surprised if we sign Austin on deadline day. - and if Son is happening, Austin would give us the like for like cover we need for Kane and probably be a better option for us anyway.

Agreed. I'd prefer Austin for what he brings to the mix.

I was a tad disappointed to hear about Illarramendi earlier but if RS are paying close to £20m for him you can immediately add a £5m Premier League premium to that, plus probably another £3m on top of that because of the 'special relationship' we are privileged to have with Real; so all in all I wouldn't risk £28m on him...

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the WBA offices right now; they could well be stuck with 5 first team strikers come Sept 2nd!

I get the feeling this was all about leaving West Brom with five strikers because they decided to **** with Levy. But I'd probably take Son over Berahino anyway. Less risk and probably a little less money, even if there is less potential.

Cue Arsenal picking up Berahino and winning the league.

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Also wouldn't be taken aback if Tony Pulis turns up to training next week to discover that Emmanuel Adebayor had somehow signed a contract to be his new assistant manager <laugh>

What makes you say Son is less of a risk rwaeb? Admittedly I've seen very little of him which is why I'm interested to hear others' opinions.

If anything, I'd assume that Berahino is less of a risk. Proven in the league with a better scoring record and has worked with Kane on numerous occasions.

But given the rumour that our last bid for him was £21m and WBA are holding out for north of £25m, the prices aren't all that different - we don't stand to save very much by swooping for Son. Which would suggest that he actially is the better option....but then why all the soap opera with Saido?

Going by the comments from Pulis, West Brom look to have signings lined up and they believed they could sell Berahino for 25 million.

They need to decide if rejecting 21 million, keeping an unhappy player, is worth the risk considering it means missing out on their targets.

As it stands they have a decent squad for their season ahead but if Berahino stays, will be perform? He won't be the first player to have a sulk and then have a great season. Take a look at Modric with us and Morgan at saints.

I still think Berahino is first choice and Son looks to be a replacement for Lamela if he moves to Inter.

Austin only gets talked up by our fans, can't see any actual interest from us, doesn't strike me as a player Pochettino would be interested In.

I hope so. I live in South Korea currently :D Would give me a chance to see some Spurs highlights in the bar instead of watching Swansea 8 times a day.
