The ongoing stuff with Berahino, Wanyama, Bolasie and Pato still seems to be dragging itself towards a sloppy conclusion. We're also being linked with Song again, Axel Witsel of Zenit and basically any midfielder that fits the profile. Lennon, Adebayor and Lamela are all being linked with the door, still. As you were, basically.
Let's bung in a rumour: Saints unsettled midfielder Victor Wanyama has apparently got his heart set on a move to Tottenham and a reunion with Mauricio Pochettinho.
Wanyama's suffering from a severe case of Berahinoitis, as he's left out of Southampton's side today. Stones seemed fine yesterday, though.
I see Wanyama as a higher priority than Berahino, although Dier and Bentaleb looked surprisingly assured yesterday. I'd just feel very uneasy seeing those two line up against City in a few weeks' time.
On current City form we will feel uneasy whoever we play in midfield but Dier could learn from the game.
There's been talk recently of us being interested in Alex Witsel of Zenit. Also, Pato's agent has said he is close to joining Spurs. There ya go Spurf!
we're also interested in Song Ossie Ardiles supposedly told fans at yesterdays game that Lamela is close to leaving for 20m euros.
If Pato is fit and up for it he could be a good signing. I'd rather we signed a player experienced at the highest level as back up than some of these 26-27 year old non-entities who will add very little and keep a youngster out of the team
Power when did you last see Pato perform? He may have a decent pedigree but it looks as if hes been offered on a plate to any English club that is intrested. Little point adding experience unless the player can also settle in the league and has quality.
I don't think there's much doubt that he has the quality, his injury record seems to be the major concern. Although, obviously, any foreign player who's never played in the Prem before is something of a risk.
just what we need...and was a good price......we need a tough motherfucker in the team. i like Eric Dier just because hes got some steel...i liked the way he smacked up Lukaku a bit. He also layed into a Stoke player, i think it was..a few weeks ago.
