Boss, how do you feel about signing DeMarcus Beasley to fix our LB situation? Ignore the fact he's put 'De' on the front of a normal name for no apparent reason, we can call him Marcus. I think with him, Fletcher and possibly a loan of Scottish vomit we could challenge for the title.
Not wanting to be rude mate but that's a ridiculous suggestion, next you will be suggesting Tony Pulis becomes our manager.
Player manager mate. Team for next season: Fulop Naughton Pulis King Beasley Bentley ScottishVomit Chadli Rose Fletcher Obika Evolution not revolution
We should also get used to using the phrase: "Oh Gauld, what's he done now?!" as i think that will become quite useful. COYS
The US squad also has DeAndre Yedlin in it, which makes me think their parents wanted to give their names a little emphasis but forgot how to spell "The" when filling out the birth certificate. Also, do we really want a Rangers reject in our squad? Have we forgotten the constant enquiries about how Alan Hutton was doing?
Kevin Stewart signs a 2 year deal to join Alex Inglethorpe at Liverpool. Also there is our former keeper Lawrence Vigoroux. In other news, our former CB, Troy Archibald Henville, has left Swindon to join Carlisle.
Time will tell if Inglethorpe's judgement is more sound than... whoever's currently running our youth system.
Hi Spurcat, hope your well buddy Whats the dealio regarding the Gk situation at Spurs? Are we actively looking fto sign a back up keeper to Lloris or is young Archer ready to step up to the plate?
Telegraph saying we've made an improved bid for Davies around the £10m mark... I thought £8m was a perfect deal to be honest, £10m would be the absolute max in my opinion and if Swansea refuse to sell then look elsewhere. Like the article says, Swansea will need to be careful about messing Levy about if they're serious about trying to get Gylfi back there, knowing Levy if Swansea want more for Davies, he'll just up Gylfi's price (though I'd prefer to keep him). The same article also mentions about Daws being reluctant to leave for Hull, if there's truth in that then it's another reason why I'd really want to keep him. Don't get me wrong I don't consider Dawson a first teamer, I'd only use him in cups and if 2/3 injuries occur but the bloke loves the club and will make it the second time he's rejected a move away which has guaranteed first team football. So many times fans complain about loyalty and we've got a guy here who seems desperate to stay even if it results in a lack of game time. #SAVEDAWS
Ben Davies , how good is he ? I have read a sort of mixed reaction . Siggy for me has had so little influence and shown no real technical ability no pace, that when playing is usually unnoticeable . Sell him he is a waste of a squad place. Sandro is another through continue injury has not delivered. Yes some talent in the strength department but does not offer much more. Really has never established himself in the first 11 for any time. Keep him if you want a cult figure. Dawson's time is up and as we our selling club we have to sell to buy. No sentiment please.
Solid enough I'd say but not worth anymore than £10m (for now). A better option than Rose and sadly to say Ekotto (due to his age). Siggy is a player that CAN change a game, problem is he's not consistent enough but in fairness to him he's rarely had a proper run of games in the first team to be able to get into a proper rhythm. Sandro fully fit is our best CM. His defensive skills are some of the best I've seen, I think he learned a lot while Parker was here. We just need to get - and keep - him fit and we'll have one of the best DM's in Europe. He showed his worth before his injury in AVB's first season, making the most interceptions and successful tackles out of any midfielder in Europe. It's not about keeping Daws solely due to sentiment but there won't be many better 4th choice CB's than him who are happy to stay with the club. It's more logical to keep him than sell him in my opinion. We'll only buy another CB, probably for a lot more money, who'll then either command a 1st team spot, resulting in one of our other CB's dropping down the pecking order which they won't like or it simply means paying a good amount of dosh for someone that'll likely play no more than 15-20 games in all competitions. Taking all things into consideration, Dawson was probably our best CB last season... Which really doesn't say a lot but I wouldn't say his time is necessarily up.
Given the recent injury records of Kaboul, Vertonghen, and Chiriches, it might be sensible to get another CB in regardless.
True, good point. Though it'll be typically "Spursy" for us then to have 4/5 fully fit CB's for a season lol.
Indeed - it would be quite ironic if after the criticism of our cub and manager for playing Vertonghen at left back, he then won the World Cup in that same position.......
"it would be quite ironic if after the criticism of our cub and manager for playing Vertonghen at left back, he then won the World Cup in that same position" The criticism would be about his whining due to repeatedly playing there for Spurs + that being a reason for his alleged transfer request during AVBs' 2013-14 season. Yet quite happy to bite his tongue when the tournament is somewhat more prestigious.
Laste Dombaxe, Liam Priestley and Kane Vincent-Young have also been released: http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/player-update-030714/ Meanwhile, U21s Alex McQueen, Grant Hall and Reuben Lameiras have all signed new contracts, as have Academy players Daniel Akindayini, Filip Lesniak, Aaron McEneff, Luke McGee, William Miller, Nathan Oduwa, Connor Ogilvie, Emmanuel Sonupe and Harry Winks. Good news on Winks, as there were rumours that other clubs were sniffing around when the retain/release list was published.
QPR have agreed a fee for Caulker. Smart move as Caulker will be paired with Dunne (and Rio if he signs) at various stages throughout the season, although the QPR fans are freaking out at the mention of anyone over 30 after what Mark Hughes done to them!
