Well it won't be Shaw and Lalla based on Levy being such a tight ****, unless of course he signs a 60's pop singer and a ****ing teletubby.

As long as one of them isn't Dani Osvaldo...

Chambers as back-up and competition for Walker, perhaps?

I very much doubt saints will sell players like chambers as they are the type they need when they lose their big names, they simply can't let that happen. If its the bigger name players then obviously Lallana would be ideal and we now stand a chance because of the new manager, but Lallana is 26 and this is likely to be his only big move. Plus saints will command a big fee for him and there won't be much of a bidding war, it seems to be Liverpool only and I assume they are trying to get him on the cheap.

The Guardian think one of them is Lallana (although in truth, it's not difficult to write that sort of stuff).

Also reading that Jay Rodriguez is another we're interested in.

Away from Saints players - twitter claimed earlier that there is a bid for Loic Remy from us.

You sure? We can begin collecting poorly performing strikers!

I thought he was a striker, played in that 2 2 against Arsenal up top, might be wrong though

In the same article they talk about resigning Caulker using the supposed first option we have with Cardiff, and also signing Michy Batshuayi from Standard Liège by triggering his £8m release clause. The kid is 20, has scored 37 goals in 90 apps (admittedly in the Belgian league), with 5 goals in 12 apps for the Belgian U21 squad. Might be nice to sign him but it can't be at the expense of Kane's development

Whatever happens - we need a new LB.

I can't take another season of Rose or BAE now that he's back.

We were mentioned in the same sentence as the Daley Blind from Ajax - he's supposed to be good.

He's a right-back primarily, but he can play further up on that side too, for now.

Anyone is good compared to those guys surely? Another Ajax player? Maybe we could come to some kind of arrangement where we sign their top player every season.

Might have been easier to get if we had gone for Frank de Boer...

BAE is gone. He won't survive the work ethic.
Adebayor will be worried. A decent MF service to Soldado will kill off
those "play when he wants" antics.

Probably would've. I suspect what happened there was we made contact, he was interested but then Levy told him he'd probably be sacked within 6 months so FDB decided it'd probably be better to go and win the Dutch title for a 5th year in a row.

When we finally get this working then we'll actually be a dangerous team. Pochettino definitely COULD get this working, the Southampton midfield was really good for the majority of the last season. They tailed off but hopefully with some of the midfielders we've got (Eriksen, Paulinho & Lamela if he stays fit) we'll have the quality when they're all firing

What a ludicrous decision by de Boer!

I know! Who would possibly want to win titles with their boyhood club?

Just on Lallana - he's good but, for the price, do we need him?

We're already a bit heavy in the midfield department.

I would say, aside from keeping our key names this Summer, we should be looking at another striker and a left back - maybe a centre back (as we always seem to run out). That's about it really.

Lovren could be an option but Shaw is off to Utd, thats virtually done. J Rod had a great season but he is likely to be another Shane Long. More you think about our new manager and the players he could sign (from saints) the less excited I get, especially as Lallana is unlikely.
