I'd sell him. Rose and Davies are much better left backs, Vertonghen, Kaboul, Fazio(probably) and even Capoue are all senior players who are better at centre back whilst Dier and Veljkovic both look much better prospects.

18 months ago Fryers cost 1m quid less than Dier, but has not developed in LB
(his alleged specialist position) to be anything more than a younger Danny Rose.
Davies is youngish, and a specialist LB by trade. And we have Vert as a senior cover option.

He has to be in danger of being sold now.

This Sandro to QPR speculation seems wide of the mark, to me. Far more likely to join Napoli, assuming that he goes at all.
Redknapp confirmed that their move for Lassana Diarra is basically a done deal and they play a very similar role. Good signing for them.

If Townsend is still at this club by end of day tomorrow then I'll be annoyed

So come on then guys, what's everyone's predictions for this evening/ tomorrow.

    Ins and outs.

    I'll go for:

Outs: Holtby, Sandro, Lennon, Paulinho, Naughton - all perms. Lennon being left out of the squad today was quite surprising, I don't think any manager has ever left Lennon out of an 18 man squad and I have a feeling Poch may cash in if a late bid comes in, a supposed ITK also claimed Lennon told him he could be off when sitting in one of the boxes at WHL today. Paulinho, a surprise departure but I was quite shocked not seeing him in the squad for the match today (unless he was injured?). He had a good game against Limassol but the fact he's not even made the bench for any of our league games suggests to me Poch isn't a fan, a shame as like most of the other 7 guys from last season, I think he could've shown his quality this year and I think should he leave, we'll regret the decision. Sandro and Holtby for obvious reasons, neither have featured much in either league or Europa. Will be devastated to see Sandro go, best DM in Europe when fit in my opinion and I was hoping he could get back to full fitness and show Poch what he can do. Naughton has always been back up and I think with Dier's emergence and form (yes I know he's primarily a CB for the record), Naughton could find himself 3rd choice once Walker is back fit.

Soldado, Fryers, Ceballos - loan. Soldado because you'll see why in my "Ins predictions" but I don't think any team will be willing to pay a fee near what we bought him for and so a loan with option to buy could be pushed through. Fryers, despite having Davies and Rose here, I think the club will only loan him and Palace have supposedly already sounded out a move. Ceballos, needs the game time, probably a final season for him to prove if he has a future here or not.

Ins: Stambouli (seeing as Montpellier seem confident of it <laugh>), Welbeck, Bony. Stambouli I presume is pretty much done and won't be long until the OS announces it. Welbeck, according to Goal.com is in negotiations over a loan move. Bony, a weird one as I've never really mentioned his name all Summer (despite being a fan) and I haven't seen too many media links over recent weeks but I just have a gut feeling that he may be a late Levy/ Lewis buy, resulting in Soldado's departure (seeing as he seems to be behind Kane in pecking order).

Out: Holtby, Sandro, BAE, maybe Lennon (based on the same ITK), hopefully Townsend, maybe Paulinho (though I don't think he should go)

In: Welbeck (still not convinced), Stambouli and maybe a surprise loan/buy for a forward

Think we'll definitely see 2 in, maybe more. Not really sure why we'd want Stambouli but I guess there must be something to the strong rumours, I think we should look to find any quality players that become available late on a la VDV. Surely at least one of Jese and Isco will be available on loan with the level of competition they've got for a place in the side.

Really hope we're not in for Welbeck, imo he's average and we'd be much better off giving some more game time to Kane. Really hoping we don't sell Sandro and Holtby but it's looking increasingly likely, I like Paulinho but I'd far rather he was sold instead of them, I think if they stay they'll prove Poch wrong like Dawson did with AVB.

If it was up to me I'd see 4 leave and 1 big signing in. Ade/Soldado, Kaboul, Lennon and Paulinho out, Jese/Vadillo in.

I want see some more creativity and more pace coming into the team, our CM`s are too similar also, we need more variety and options in central areas.

Think Ceballos will be out too.

Welbeck on loan : we are faced with Adebayor going to AFCON again, and Soldado still being Soldado
Are we likely to pick up a useful forward at the winter transfer window ??

    "Is Damiao available?"

Waiting in a winter transferland. :)

Levy got it 100% correct with Internacional on what they were demanding.

    In prep for tomorrow...

ITKs expect 2 in and 4 out.

Rumour is Poch still wants Schneiderlin ahead of Stambouli.

I suspect, given that Montpellier have tweeted about it already, that Stambouli may be a back-up to MoSch if that falls through.

Unfortunately, I suspect the other in would be Welbeck.

There is a list of Fryers/Lennon/Townsend/Paulinho/Sandro/Holtby but I don't know if these are ITK or just the person's opinion (or both <laugh>)

I suspect it's probably not too hard to draw a up a list of 4 though - as we all have done quite regularly.

Not to say he would not have turned out ok, but just because Chelsky paid all that money
upfront for Oscar doesn't mean Spurs could/would afford to do the same.

I mean, even though we have paid much more for Soldado, the first payment put down was still
6-7m Euros less than what Internacional were allegedly asking for in total. And he has La Liga pedigree.

This might be the least excited about a transfer deadline day ive ever been.

Anyone remember when there was that rumour at about half past ten that some guy (ryan babel ?) was in his helicopter en route to the training ground to sign ? Lol. Think that might have been the vdv window actually ? Will we ever equal that VDV moment in all our transfer windows ? That was one of my greatest ever footballing moments, lol.
