Fellani was always better playing behind the striker. That's where he caused havoc with his height and power.

Holtby is on his way out tots and an attacking goal scoring midfielder like Fellaini is what we need. Townsend to Saints why not?

Fellaini is labouring under the misapprehension that he is a defensive midfielder. I hope and pray we go nowhere near him (or Hernandez). I'd like Holtby to stay as well. Quite shocked that this isn't the consensus.

I hope both Holtby and Paulinho stay.

I wasn't Holtby's biggest fan but his pre-season and his cameo against West Ham has lead me to believe he may FINALLY be finding his feet.

Paulinho is a class player, lets make no mistakes about this. Yes his first season was poor by his standards but his pedigree is of a winner. He was Corinthian's best player when they won the Libertadores, he was awarded the 3rd best player in the Confeds Cup and is seen as a pivotal member of the Brazilian national team - which regardless of a less than impressive World Cup is still a footballing powerhouse. To cast this guy aside due to his poor first season with us after having played for pretty much 2 years straight with very little rest is crazy.
By all means judge him after this season, but give the man a bit of a chance.

It's worth noting we had two absolute dopes in charge which isn't going to help any player.

Part of me feels that we should give Paulinho a chance but a greater part of me doesn't see at all where he is going to fit in under Pochettino, and that we should cash in as profitably as we can

he may well no fit,but we must give him the chance,as SOS says,he is a class player,so give him time, saying sell him is like selling Bale or Modric before giving them time to settle,no one had a chance to settle with what happened last season, and it would not suprise me if that's why Holtby didn't perform

Paulinho's closing down in advanced positions impressed me at times last season, but I'm not sure where he'll be used.
If he plays in the three behind the striker then I assume that he'd have to be central, which would push Eriksen wide and limit him somewhat.
Using him in the defensive midfield pairing might work, but we're already facing the prospect of having to fit Sandro, Capoue, Dembele and Bentaleb in there.

We'll probably get a horde of injuries now and end up with Mason and Carroll as our only fit midfielders! <laugh>

Fair enough tots. I don't know who I'd drop to allow him to play his way into form and match fitness, because he'll need regular game time to get there. I'd love to be proved wrong though, and for Paulinho to come good.

I agree re Fellaini and Holtby. To my mind, any player who makes it as far as the German national side must have something about him.

I'd be happy with Hernandez too. Again, I think he needs to play regularly. He looks a natural goal scorer also.

I definitely dont want Fellaini. I can't see how you can plan to play good football with him in the team. I feel like you would have to compromise your whole system to fit him in the team. He had one season at Everton where he scored 11 league goals (with the team largely built around his style of play) but apart from that he has hardly been prolific.Look at his record at Man U for start. No league goals. Paulinho got 6 goals in the league in his first season. I would much rather have him. He is a lot more mobile for a start. And I would rather keep our own Belgian in Dembele than spend a load of money on another.
Hernandez of a couple of years ago I would have wanted for sure but now I dont know. If he's not scoring does he offer much else to the team? IMO he is like a "poor mans" Jermain Defoe. Or is that a bit harsh? Probably going to get slated for that last comment!
I dont want anymore signings unless it's someone like a Depay who can add some flair and excitement to the team. You can keep your Schneiderlins and your Fellaini's thanks. Let's give what we already have a chance first.

There has to be a reason why multiple managers keep snubbing Hernandez. Managers for a mid-table side

I don't think it's necessarily managers snubbing him, maybe they just think RVP and Rooney suit the system better.

He needs to play regularly, IMO. He has scored 38 in 102 appearances for Utd. But, the majority of those would have been as sub.

Hmmm, Darren Bent had a good record too though. I just see Hernandez as a new Darren Bent. Even if he scores the goals he won't do enough to appease the fans

I do not want to see either Fellaini or Hernandez coming to Spurs, they are no better than what we already have. Neither would improve us, Hernandez in particular is vastly over rated and totally not what we need, he can not even get in the worst United team for 25 years.
