He's back ... NEW STRIKER - If Soldado picks up an injury for a month or more we are in real trouble.... I have no idea who but we need someone especially if Ade goes.

Completely agree on this.

I've been reading that we could go back in for.... yep you guessed it... DA-MEOW! <yikes>

With the uncertainty over Ade, we can't go into a season with just Defoe and Soldado. Surely we've learnt from that last season, only having 2 strikers?

Also how often did we see Bale's defensive capabilities last season? A couple of very notable exceptions but most of the time he walked back towards goal if the opposition were attacking.

The first half against QPR?

No - what you said was true: http://www.internationalworkpermits.com/football-players-work-permits.html

"- A player must have played for his country in at least 75% of its competitive 'A' team matches he was available for selection, during the two years preceding the date of the application; and
- The player's country must be at or above 70th place in the official FIFA world rankings when averaged over the two years preceding the date of the application."

And I also just read someone else saying how many South American players qualify for EU passports through parents/grandparents so this whole rule can often be circumvented anyhow.

Sandro has dual nationality (Brazilian and Portuguese) so qualified that way, although to my knowledge Willian only qualifies for Brazilian nationality.

BBC uclaiming Madrid have made 2 offers....
1) £86m spread over 4 years
2) close to £70m paid now.both a make weight player thrown in...
Apparently they are just waiting for ua to choose which option to gratefully accept...

So nice to see our special relationship working so well...
Bale shirts on sale....platform built to present him on....and they still ain't agreed a fee...

I hope levy is still in a bad mood over William and tells them to go **** themselves <laugh>

I sincerely hope Levy tells them, yes. Either of these deals get you Bale NEXT SEASON.

For NOW, it's £100M! OR Go play with yourself!

70 million plus a player is probably fair, but why should we act fair with our '' friends'' from Madrid,. They need to learn for their behaviour the price goes up and up.

My three wishes are:-

(1) Levy to tell Real to shove their Bale shirts up their arses
(2) Willian to be denied a work permit (on a Foreign Office official ruling that Chavs do not need another midfielder and are taking the piss)
(3) Whinger to "unveil" Flamini as Arsenal's Summer signing, on 1 September.

I ****ing hate the way the bbc have portrayed it. Real Madrid have GIVEN Spurs 2 OPTIONS. How ****ing kind of them. How about we add a 3rd option and tell Perez to stick his fist up his own arse?

<laugh>

That was exactly my first reaction when I read that story. I was too dumbstruck to be too furious, though.

Why didn't the BBC write, in bold capitals?: Real Madrid - What cheeky bastards!

The third option - the "self-fisting" option - that you have so eloquently posited, Spurm is the one that most of us would rather Levy put on the table to Perez. And I'd like the BBC to be there when Perez attempts it. Perhaps Perez would fist himself on that stage-platform he's built. Should get some sort of reaction from the crowd.

Barca's new manager has chipped in, suggesting that Madrid's fee for Bale excessive.
"How I feel about Madrid signing Bale for about €100m? He is an excellent player, but the fee that's being mentioned shows a lack of respect for the world we live in," Martino said at a press conference.
Their release clause for Neymar is €190m and they paid €57m for him. That's different though, because...

What happens if the +1 player chooses not to join spurs? Deal collapses I guess. We should opt for one that won't sign for us in a month of Sundays, so again, ozil

It's gotta be a cash only offer, especially if coentrao isn't convinced.

I can't believe we're still saying "pay up or **** off", with 10 days to go in the window!
