good to see Spurs say Bale is not for sale at any price,and will tell him that when he returns from his holidays in the USA.
 
Levy/Lewis love the cash, we will see if they have any real intent in keeping him . They may be playing their usual waiting game of "hands off, but make me an
offer I can't refuse". They may be no offer of a exceptable new contract, or actually buy anyone of real quality (talking of a higher standard than Dembele) to show
Bale that he has any future with Spurs. At the end of the summer they will come out with their typical rhetoric "We can not keep hold of a player who
doesn't want to play for us" as Levy goes on a last minute ego bargain buy spending spree, while our rivals blast us away once again in the transfer market.
As many others have said, if we sell him it shows that any player that we buy , we are putting you in a shop window , if you perform you can move on to
a club that actually wants to win things. The wage structure will not allow us to buy game changers so more side way players.
Never has our club sold our cream over such a short time span. |Usually once a decade , Waddle., Gazza etc.
Another usual year on bitter Spurs summer looks to unfold. Will he won't he, every quality transfer deal collapses. It would be a dream to
have responsive owners who actually cared about the club than their bank balance and attend a game once a decade. How long has Lewis got, he looks 95 ?
I am in Paris at the moment (Chantilly) so lots of plonk, Moules, keeps the Spurs blues away.

Having followed Spurs for over half a century, Sidney, I can appreciate your pessimism. I've seen more false dawns than I care to count. But god, the glass isn't just half empty to you is it, it's got a ****ing great hole in the bottom too. <laugh>

Anyway, try and enjoy Paris.

Whenever I go shopping and there's a choice of three I never go for the cheapest or the most expensive but for the middle priced item because I've it to be just as good if not better than the most expensive. Like VdV who was medium priced I'd continue on that trend because he was good and some good players can be bought in the middle price range. The upper limit like Bale etc are as has been posted already,absurd.

sounds like Sid expects relegation next season <laugh>
 
I am not sure when Spurs plan to announce the list of players we have released, but the list will definitely include John Bostock and William Troos-Ekong in addition to the names we already know. There has also been a bit of a purge in the Academy with several lads departing including Victor Zapata-Caicedo who had a decent goal scoring record in the under 18 league.
 
Pretty surprised to see that last name appear, SC. Good luck to them all though, I guess.
Hopefully we'll continue to see the academy develop, as we really do appear to be moving in the right direction in that area.

In other news, it seems that West Ham have had a bid for Alvara Negredo of Sevilla turned down.
They offered £14.5m plus add-ons and it was refused, but the club's President also let out that the player wasn't interested anyway, so it wasn't ever going to happen.
Everton might go back in for him but he's one that we really should be looking at, in my opinion. 70 goals in 139 league games over the past 4 seasons.
 
We're chasing an £8million player who has scored 27 in 28 outings,ffs let's get him on board. He's the sort of bargain I posted about earlier. Let's keep away from the silly money signings.
 
Damiao's agent refused to rule out a move to us, but also made it clear that his client would prefer a move to a side in the Champions League (or with a bigger wage bill, presumably).

We had someone watching Alexander Kacaniklic yesterday, as Sweden played Macedonia in Malmo.
He scored the only goal of the game and won the MOTM award. His agent had this to say:
&#8220;I know that Tottenham were at the game and looked at Alex, and I talked to their representative who was in attendance. Obviously Alexander interests many clubs, as he continues to perform well in international games and in the Premier League.&#8221;
Fulham fans will probably be a bit pissed off if we keep nicking anyone that does well for them, though. Oh well.
 
Belhanda's a midfielder who's very much in the style of Dembele, from what I've seen of him, TMT.
He scored 10 goals in 28 league games last season though, not 27.
It's rumoured that he'll be allowed to leave for about &#8364;14-15m, which is about £12m.
