This story makes no sense, to me. Why would he accept less than he'd get if he stayed, when he turned down moves in the summer?
I think that the media have jumped on something that's standard practice with our current coaching staff, when it's a non-story.

We have attacking midfielders who can do the job SOS. I posted before the start of last season that I didn't think Ade is an AVB type of player and he just isn't.

Will that figure decrease come January like transfer fees do? If so, keep hold of him until then.

Five names have been linked with Spurs in the January window including Hulk,Ince, Corchia, somebody called Islam from Chelsea and A.N.Other so Ade's days are numbered anyway.

I saw El Shaarawy getting linked with us this morning too. Can't see it happening but he's a quality player.

None of them are strikers, IIRC.

He is, though. Fallen down the pecking order, apparently, but I'd still be surprised if they sold him and if he joined us.

El Shaarawy is a great player but where on earth would we fit him in? He wouldn't leave Milan without guaranteed first team football and I genuinely believe we couldn't offer him that.

    Ah :D

He's basically like Lamela but he cuts in from the left flank rather than the right. Not sure that's a position we need to strengthen and I don't think Milan would want to sell him either. I think we've got to be looking at signing a young striker and maybe some youth players in general. I think our first team squad, other than a left back and striker, is complete so it'd be nice to see us go for some Bale style young signings if we've got money burning a hole in our pocket.

I thought Lamela was a Bale type youngster, from what I've seen anyway.

Yeah but I meant more in terms of age and spending relatively big on a youngster for a few years time.

Corchia was linked all summer - which, given he's a right back that can play on the left, says that Naughton won't be with us long-term.

AVB wants a team of expensive stars it seems and there's no place for youth coming up so yep I'd say you're right about Naughton.

What about them? I'm not saying we've got no players coming through. What I'm saying is that if we're looking to spend more money, I'd like us to sign a highly rated youngster or two, like Halilovic who we tried to get. That doesn't mean I'm writing off our current talents coming through but our first team squad is pretty full so if we were to make a new signing, I'd quite like it to be a punt on a highly rated youngster, like Bale was. Surely if you rate those guys you'd feel the same way? The more first team squad players we sign the more difficult it's going to be for those players to make it into the squad in the next year, or two years, or whenever.

The way things are going I feel that Chelsea might have more players to of load in January than previously thought and we are interested in Mata again. We could even revive Torres' shattered career.

Bit early to be drinking TMT! :D

People need to forget the Liverpool Torres, he was more slight in build, leaner, which gave him that extra yard of pace his game desperately relies on. His first touch isn't that great, but his speed made up for it. So no, nobody's reviving that imo. <ok>

Mata?, depends, we have Holtby and if Eriksen and Lamela settle in which looks more than likely, we don't need him.

We don't want to do a Chelsea and have a million AM's on the books.
