I can`t believe the amount and level of players you have bought this window, Baldini must be a magician. It may take until January to get the new players bedded in fully but top four should now be yours.

  10. You watch. Next season the Rooneys and the Suarezs will want to play for the mighty Spurs.

Everyone else seems to want to.*

Despite all our signings, we still need a LB and a striker to replace the inevitable departures of Benny and Ade, respectively.

Nothing would surprise me in this window. We're properly going for it.

Arsene Wenger has expressed some doubt about the wisdom of buying so many players and I must admit the same concern crossed my mind a couple of weeks ago. I woke up thinking "I don't know my Spurs any more" and "Is this right?" If we get booted out of the FA Cup by minnows what does that say for all this? For once I have to agree with Wenger's opinion. I know that'll cause agitation amongst some of you but I'd have agreed with any coach who'd have said it. I say enough now.

I have the feeling that AVB may be happy with what he's got in the striker dept. he seems happy to have Soldado, with Defoe as backup. Also, once assimilated, we have potential goal scoring ability from so many more areas than last season. Lamela,, Erikson, and Paulinho are all more than capable of making a significant contribution.

You're right TMT. Making so many changes will have it's teething problems, but the quality we've brought in and the backbone we have should aid the bedding in period.

We still have Lloris, walker, verts, Kaboul, daws, sandro and dembele who could all be in our first 11, which means many of them will still be on the pitch at the same time, to help the new ones around them.

At least the additions are quality signings. I think we'll be showing signs of how dangerous we're going to be this season over the course of the next 4-5 games.

Wow Superal, you're not called super for nothing are you? I can't remember Wenger doing that but I believe you.

All your points are taken Roo and taken gratefully because I am a touch worried. I hope our season in the PL starts tomorrow with a win but Wenger stated he has a better squad than us so he's confident. Now I know we've had two wins already but I want something more convincing than "possession" or "we deserved it," I want goals goals goals from now on.

Haha - I remember an article in the sun where arsenal and Chelsea had a page each of transfer activity. Wenger used to buy plenty in the past!

As for us I think we look extremely solid in midfield and defence - Capoue has been mighty impressive almost like trying to get past a brick wall! It's always made sense you should build from the back - not conceding in 4 games so far is unusual territory for spurs!

Lacking that spark on final third but lamela and eriksen both have the ability to add that so hopefully we will start seeing chances aplenty once they settle.

Compare our bench this year to last and the strength in depth is incredible. Even the likes of Sandro and dembele are not guaranteed starters it's insane!

Personally I couldn't give a **** what wenger says. I dont want the whole of the team's DNA to disappear overnight though, and it's obvious that if you just throw a whole new bunch of players together, then it's going to take a while for them to gel. Most of all (in terms of strikers), Defoe needs to be - and merits being - 2nd choice striker, and I don't want to lose him for another newbie. As others have said, we have other players who are going to score goals now, and in terms of striker itself we have the rapidly developing kane to use if required in an emergency, and other leading players who could play a forward role if absolutely necessary.

edit : just realised i've used my line again <doh>
