Watch it Drogs you're not on the Chelsea board now. My comment is perfectly reasonable a player chasing money, joining a club with an owner who understands his motives.
Indeed. If one takes on the responsibility of moderating a site one has to do it with care, fairness, and with dignity. PESKIE is not the only Gooner mod who is an utter disgrace, there is at least one other - and we all know who he is. Actually, there are quite a few mods who act disgracefully, not merely in the things they say or the vile personal abuse that they dish out and encourage, but also in the disgracefully biased manner in which they act in banning errant posters. Instead of doing the right and dignified thing and banning nasty, vile, ignorant partisan posters, they bottle-out and ban the non-partisan victims of those bullies. Then again, what decent poster wants to consort with ignorant slime? That is my only concern for this board. If I had my way, anyone found to be acting disrespectfully to anyone else - whether a Spurs supporter or not - anywhere on this site, would be banned from this board until such time as they could demonstrate that they have changed, and are prepared to act with respect. Sure, have a laugh - life's tough enough without humour in our lives, and football breeds its own particular brand of tribal banter - but personal abuse and invective absolutely must not and should not be tolerated, anywhere and against anyone.
What? So by saying you're talking rubbish I'm somehow abusing you? Nonsense. It's not a reasonable comment in the slightest, you're saying it as if he's done something wrong. He's obviously been offered more money and a chance to play in the Champions League AND challenge for the Premier League with one of the best managers in the world. Fail to see how it makes him purely a mercenary.
It sounds good, like so many of Shankley's sound-bite quotes do, but it's pretty ignorant stuff when you break it down, and that kind of rhetoric will get you no where in today's highly tactical game. That said, I do agree with Spurm's sentiments, that we would not appear to be littered with a squad of players who can lump the ball into the net from anywhere up to 30 yards from the opposition's goal, and that has got to be a massive strength.
Maybe you fail to see it because you are used to players doing that. We already had comments from Spurs posters warning us that he would not sign for Spurs because he was just using us to raise his profile. They appear to have been spot on. Levy will not see the funny side of it. Accusing someone of talking rubbish is not exactly a valid argument is it. I do not warm to people who accuse me of talking rubbish and if I wasn't such a calm reasonable guy it could lead to abuse. So as I said watch it Drogs. What are you getting excited about anyway you have just signed another player in the class of Cole & Terry.
Come on, Drogs! You don't need Willian, and you know it. God alone knows what old pony Willain has been sold to get him to sign for you, but the player has made a bad move. Mad Dog and Mourhino might well see this as a great little joke, and be able to waste £32m and however many millions they are going to have to pay the player in wages merely in an attempt to stop us from gaining ground on CFC, but it is an utterly cynical way to go about business. Why don't you display some dignity and admit that, instead of always taking the party-line, no matter how overtly shameful that line might be?
How ironic it is that you were saying how angry the Liverpool fans were on twitter for missing out on Willian then you go and post that. I would say you are about to explode with rage because Willian snubbed you
Can't see the quote but I regularly call them "Goons" so don't have much problem with "Spud", which used to annoy me. If he's been wumming on his own board he's welcome to, just as we are here.
The truth is that most Spurs posters are not that bothered. We cannot afford the luxury of players who are not fully commited we already have one of those, I think you have one too.
Nice guy or not I'm free to think what I like Spurf. I didn't verbally abuse or attack you and you have a right to refute what I said. It's funny because your own comment was provocative and you clearly can't see that, you are also continuing to slate players by bringing up class just because a player has chosen to reject you for us. It has nothing to do with whether we need him or not HIAG, the attraction of playing in the CL and challenging for the title along with more money has a far greater pull than what you have to offer. If you can't see that then quite frankly you must be slightly dense. Personally I would rather not buy him simply because we have players good enough already, however to call him a mercenary when the draw of the Champions League is on the table is out of sync for me.
I am completely apathetic to Willian and where he ends up be it us, Chelsea, Man City, 'Pool, Kettering Town or Spartak Vulkan. I will re-assess my position on September 2nd once I see our finalised squad.
I put forward a perfectly valid argument as to why Willain has made a mistake in snubbing us and choosing to move to CFC, and your considered response is to insult me. Can no one else see the massive problem that there is with this forum?
If you read his post, he said he was disappointed to miss out on Willian and angry about Mourinho's comments.
Willian clearly has no class and no brains. He will warm the bench for several matches wondering why he's not playing. Still, if he chooses the easy route to money and Champions League football, the Chavs are welcome to him. We don't need players like that. AVB is building a squad of players that want to play for Spurs, not money grabbers. Let's get Lamela in and move on.
