I will not be surprised in the slightest if he goes to Chelsea. He took a big money move to Anzhi, sowhy would it be any different now. Chelsea will blow us out the water if the rumours are true. We should take it as a compliment though. i suspect that Mourinho is looking at our squad and has seen we're really going for it. What I'd like to know, is how he's going to fit in? Oscar, Mata, Ramires, Lampard, Hazard etc etc...
He was staying that the Intercontinental Park Lane. There were photos of him going in! Seeing as Mourinho's said they're not signing anyone unless it's Rooney and there's not really a space for him in the side, I'm not convinced by this one. Might just be journalists taking advantage of our usual slow reporting of signings or it might be Willian's ****ty agent trying to either get more money or stir up business. There's a list of agents that we just shouldn't touch with a ****ty stick. Kia Joorabchian's one, Barnett's another.
Which is why Willian - or any other midfielder - will have to look seriously deep into his soul before moving the Chavs. Do you want to sit on their bench for most of the season, or do you want to earn glory for Spurs, and take a major part in the team, when we make the CL next season?
Sounds like he's a money hungry twat if the reports are true... Someone you're probably better off without, your squad is very strong without him anyway - so no major loss if he goes to the Chavs.
BBC reporting we're in advanced talks with Madrid. deal to happen within days. So that means Levy and Lewis 'war chest' was a big fat Zero. Just selling our star player for a world record fee allowing Avb and Baldini to use these funds to build their own team.
I'd be more than happy if we got ourselves Lamela and a CB. I'm really not that bothered about Willian, as I think we have options that are just as good. Another class striker would be nice, too. Unless Ade is going to pull his finger out and actually put in a shift this season.
If it's true, and it's a big if, Abramovic is running scared. He does not need Willian but he's worried about Tottenham strengthening. He like the little rich kid who owns the football in the playground and takes the ball home because he's losing. If someone put out a contract and had the ****er knocked over they would do football a favour.
Agreed. Spurcat said Ade and benny had a comp to get the most fines last season, I'm a benny fan but because of that I won't miss either too much.
They used to do that in Italy in the 80's and 90's, Milan, juve etc, buy players to stop the smaller clubs challenging.
Is this Sky taking the piss or something? http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/21555/8883516? Sky Bet's Chris Spicer said: "When we got wind of the news we immediately re-opened betting with Chelsea at 2/1 and Tottenham the even-money favourites. "However, as the story developed new betting patterns followed and the Blues were quickly backed into heavy favourites to land the in-demand Anzhi star." Now why would a bookie open bets up again with favourable odds on something happening, when they've heard that it's going to happen? That doesn't make much sense, does it? If this isn't true, then these ****s need to be investigated. That's not journalism, it's bet rigging.
Chelsea have been doing it for years (Parker, Sidwell, Mikel, Cahill, Oscar, Ba) and Man City have recently begun doing it too with Rodwell and Sinclair.
and you do it in football manager LOL but yeah it's a tactic used by cash rich clubs who can buy players to use squad places , players that would excel elsewhere.
Apparently Willian was at Spurs in the process of signing when a €37m bid from Chelsea came in. Willian's agent is the same as Tevez's - Kia Joorobichan (sp?) I'll be more annoyed if we miss out on Lamela than Willian to be honest. Willian's arrival will force Lennon and Townsend out effectively which annoys me. I think we could see both develop this season with Soldado in the middle.
