Maybe, but I don't think they've been slow to say, 'subject to terms/medical'. I'm far from sure there isn't a problem. As I say, if there was no problem, I think it would be on the OS by now, even with a rider such as 'subject to medical'. AVB seemed far from convinced the deal was done as well, though that I agree that is of no concern in itself, because till it's on the OS, he won't say otherwise. It may well be once the news broke Capoue was coming to us, his agent got a phone call or two, it may well be he didn't, I know not. All I know is that it's not 'done' AFAIC, unless it's on the OS. I've seen so many 'done deals' undone. Villa and Vlad this season spring to mind.
From spurs community: Firstly Bale and BAE are genuinely carrying injuries, none of the injured players attended yesterdays game and were working with the medical team. So don't read too much in their non attendance. I was told at the beginning of the TW that we would be getting quality and not quantity so while we can't argue about the quality bit I questioned my contact re quantity he said it has got complicated with the defender situation and some of last seasons first team squad have become a little bit unsettled and wondering if they will get game time, e.g. Caulker. He says to expect at least two more ins of top quality, 1 striker and 1 defender. As said before AVB looking for strength in depth and utility players, but he he is well aware of disrupting the dynamics of the squad. He also said Coentraou is doubtful, because of the Bale/Madrid scenario and believes we will only get him if Bale goes, but still sure Bale will still stay. Toby is rated highly because of his versatlity and while AVB and Baldini has been looking at other options there is a feeling Toby will fit in easier and quicker than others. Huge amounts of interest in a number of last years first team squad and he is expecting a fire sale over the next week or 10 days, with some of the younger ones going out on loan nearer deadline day.I am expecting at least one of Ade or Defoe to go before long and Parker, Huddlestone to be gone by next weekend. Baldini has been earning his crust and after this window will be concentrating on looking for young exciting players that will fit the system, but at the same time keeping an eye out for established players that would complement the team/squad.
Nice to know! My only issue is that BAE tweeted that he was fit? Suggesting that one isn't quite right. The tweet yesterday from him was unusual as well! I like what baldini brings and am excited for what prospects he can uncover! Keep bale and we could have a really memorable year. Only worry is how long it takes the squad to blend!
And who exactly is this bloke? Sounds like any other optimistic Spurs fan with no inside knowledge at all. He's hardly made any revelations here... we're trying to get rid of Parker and Hudd, Coentrao will only happen if Bale happens. Shock Horror. It's common sense, and as you say, the BAE 'injured' claim flies in the face of what the player himself is saying on Twitter.
I didn't think his tweet yesterday was unusual. He was just saying he hoped the team won before the game - he's done it many times before when he hasn't been playing. It could have been phrased better, yes, but there is a language barrier to contend with.
Very likely I read too much into the tweet! Regarding the language barrier though, I've heard his English is outstanding - then again, he is a columnist for the evening standard... So it's almost guaranteed his English will be dire.
Outstanding it is not. Watch any video interviews with him and that's clear to see, understandable, but unconventional to say the least. It's plain to see the Evening Standard edit his articles heavily to make them readable.
What happened to all the nay-sayers slamming AVB / Levy for selling Caulker, assuming the "ITKs" knew more about Sandro / Kaboul / Dawson / Verts injuries than they did. Lots of ITK saying Fryers / Livermore would be the only ones fit for Crystal Palace, turns out, SHOCK HORROR, AVB / Levy knew Kaboul / Dawson would be back for the first game and that they were looking at bringing on cover (Capoue). Pleased to see I was right in trusting AVB and Levy and not panicking. I wish people would put more faith in our club as AVB / Levy have done superbly this transfer window to hold Bale and sign Paulinho, Chadli, Soldado and Capoue (probably)
To be fair, I think there was only really 1 poster who has been consistently posting negative nonsense and he has only been on here a week........
"Pleased to see I was right in trusting AVB and Levy and not panicking. Kaboul allegedly had swelling in his knee quite recently. As to whether this will be a common occurrence for him now, or was just a one-off, others may know,
There were quite a few regular posters completely freaking out too after Caulker was sold. Btw I am very sceptical over ITKs and think 99% are attention seekers, but it's never a dig at you OS. Been around since 606 days and don't think I've ever seen you post anything that hasn't turned out to be true
I was pretty disappointed with Caulker going, although I could see why it might be good for the player himself. I still feel that he needs to be replaced in some fashion, even if the club feel that this can be achieved by training Livermore up as cover there. As it stands we're a little light there and it's a very important role.
I assume things went <standard> was due to the balls-up on Chiriches. You would have though Cardiff could have waited for a bit for us to confirm our signing, but perhaps their full join date was not negotiable.
let's hope the bid for Alderwiereld was from us. The chiriches deal has gone quiet and we've always had an interest in Alderwiereld which makes the bid pretty likely to have been from us. It makes sense at least, anyway.
I think you misunderstand, most people were just upset at losing a player they regarded as a good prospect and one of very few that make it through our academy. In addition it was frustrating as it meant we needed another centre back and the timing is poor no matter what you think about players being fit for the new season. I don't think playing Kaboul against Palace would be ideal as he's only played 45 minutes of a friendly and a couple of under 21s games since the first game of last season. Even if he is fully fit, he's way out of practice and whilst he might be able to pick up where he left off just fine, it's unreasonable to expect that he would and there is a long list of players who struggle after coming back from a long term injury or series of injuries. It's left us in a precarious position at centre back and whilst it may be understandable if he wanted to move, I'd much rather we'd kept him. As for the ITK, I'm not sure I've seen that but the problem is the scenario was not unrealistic.
Whatever happens between now and the end of the transfer window, my nomination for signing of the summer will be Framco Baldini. The guy has been so influential in all of our dealings. The bigger the transfer, the harder it is to get the deal completed, yet this man has worked wonders in bringing all our current new boys into the club. His influence has been massive.

The thing is, I reckon that is the tip of the iceberg for him. Tis the extent of his network, and the under the radar manner in which he seems to work, that is impressing me. I can see a lot of really good talent coming in, for the current seniors, and as kids for the long term. With him doing that, Levy getting them as cheaply as possible, and the Academy rumbling on, you have to say the player side of Spurs is looking very bright indeed.
