I'm sure that Le Tissier actually agreed to join us at one point. I think his missus blocked it, IIRC.

This is why I absolutely love Levy and am so glad he's ours.

Doesnt give a **** about anyone except our football club (even if it is for his own personal financial reasons).

IMO, this situation is the same as the point i was making over Bale.

If a club comes along where there's career progression and new opportunities, then the offer could be too much to turn down, despite how could could become a legend. - But it's taking the right opportunity.

there could be loads of options at various points during a footballers career, but the correct one has to be taken at the correct time.

I just don't think this is for Bale.

Personally, I think he's far better suited to United and should not leave the premier league. (not that I actually want to sell him of course.)

The same Sky that reported that Fabregas was going to move to Man Utd?

As I posted earlier, today's Marca itself is reporting that Levy is mightily pissed off with Real's conduct, calling it "insulting" they go on to say that Levy is demanding a Cash deal of £125mil.

Now, whether this is the first of the excuses for Real's inability to sign Bale, we can only speculate. However, it has now been reported in both the English and Spanish media that Levy is very angry. He's hard enough to do business with if you're on the right side of him. Being on the wrong side! Well, I wouldn't like to imagine!...

I've moved the Gary's thread in here as it's really just speculation from "Sky sources".

I've left the redirect too as a reminder too so people know where transfer rumour threads are going. There seems to have been a few threads cropping up lately which are about Real's attempt to sign Bale that is constantly being discussed in here anyway.

At this rate, if Fraudulent Madrid call a press conference to announce the signing of a player who is the most written-about in the Premier League, it's likely to be one of Suarez or Terry...

Marca are now also claiming that PSG tabled an £85mil bid for Bale 2 months ago, when Ancelotti was still in charge. It is claimed that Levy is using that as leverage to get more. Basically, they're starting to trot out some excuses, whilst still claiming that Bale does not want to play for Spurs ever again.

Now that virtually everyone at Madrid has talked up this move and their paper has run a story on it every day for a month, at what point does this become tapping up?

maybe Levy isn't using the press as he has them all beat on his own. He's set his price, he's told Bale the situation, he's gone on holiday. Job done.

  14. I took about a month off, whilst our mods gave PESKIE a kicking. It seemed to work wonders for me.

I'm now much happier with the situation. The ****pot who reported Levy cut short his Miami holiday for crisis talks wants reporting himself, its good to see Levy does not a see the bid on the table as any reason to bother his family holiday. Its quite clear to me that Levy is going to do another Chav/Modric job, so IF Bale wants to go, he will be reminded in the same terms as Luka he has 3 yrs left on his deal, which I believe has no trigger release figure, if it did he'd be a Real player by now (if he wants to be one). If Bale submits a transfer request, there is nothing anywhere thats says it has to be accepted and it won't be. Levy is uncaring of players attitude and as with Luka will ignore tantrums knowing the player will eventually play football, and they have to play well too to maintain their value, Luka played well that season, so the 'he won't be bothered' line is crap imo.

Levy's been here before, and his comment about wanting 125 in anger you can bet thats Sterling, not Euro's, and all upfront, or terms that RM cannot meet, none of their drawn out repayment ****e. Its not a serious offer, its one he knows they can't afford.

I'm quietly confident Bale plays for Spurs this season.

I wish levy'd rub it in their faces further by telling them that a deal for bale could be on the cards, but first of all he'd like to sort out the modric money as part of a deal for Coentrao.

Levy: "Mr Perez, We'll talk "Bale" later, but first, you're going to have to help us out a bit if you want the man that everyone's talking about. As you owe us £"x"(£12m?) for Modric, how about we write that off, by giving you £"x"(£8?) for Coentrao and shake hands?"

Mr Perez: "That sounds great Mr Levy, lets agree on that now"

Deal is struck and a few days pass....

My Perez: "Hi Daniel, I'm just calling about negotiating the Gareth Bale transfer as we discussed during the Coentrao deal".

Levy: "Go **** yourself Perez, and stick you're ****ty partnership agreement up your arse. Cheers for Fabio, though".

    From http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/mondaymusings/id/469?cc=5901

"Both Coentrao and Di Maria are 25. They are locked into deals through 2017 and 2018, respectively, which means that if you sign them, you're committing to more than $90 million in combined wages during the next five years."

I'm skeptical of the numbers (that's why I put them in parentheses with a question mark). But I see no reason to doubt that the amount they're owed on their contracts is enormous, that they don't figure in Real's plans much, that no one else wants to take on their salaries, and that from Real's point of view at least, they represent debt they'd love to offload.

Exactly how I see it. The actual story here is Gareth Bale and Spurs disagreeing about how big a raise he should get. The likeliest outcome, from what very, very little I can tell, is that they'll fail to come to terms, and Spurs will sell Bale next year if neither side has changed its position. The second possibility is that they come to an agreement. Real's getting a charge out of stirring the pot, and hoping they can unsettle Bale and maybe even get him for cheap. But I don't think they either have the money it would take or are interested in trying to raise it. In any case, they're not getting Bale this year.

As I said earlier, ITKs are claiming that some/all of this is currently happening.
