Thanks for the link. Still not sure it's any more reliable than the second hand tweet from a second hand connection we heard yesterday. It occurs to me that there must be a few paparazzi camped out at the training ground at the moment, and if anyone relevant to the story had come and gone we'd actually be seeing photos rather than hearing from "an onlooker". How about a photo of Levy arriving at the training ground with headline like "Levy arrives at training ground for crisis talks". Just saying that very little of all this speculation is actually backed by evidence!

It would be helpful if Gareth himself came out in public with what he want's.I think he owes the fans that

Dear Spurs,

I would like a striker to be announced and news of Bale signing a new contract.

And the new home kit please.
And the away kit please. - Infact, don't worry about the away kit.

It would be very helpful tots, but it's very unlikely that Bale is in a position to do this. His silence does tell us that some kind of negotiation is going on. In fact AVB has told us that a new contract is being discussed, so that we can take as read. Until the process is complete Bale will not be able to speak.

All the rest is speculation.

All this speculation is bad but can you imagine what it would be like now if Harry was still the manager.

Funny to see the media falling over itself to accelerate the story into some type of conclusion according to a timetable it has set itself. But what are the FACTS here? What is actually going on apart from a lot of notoriously UNRELIABLE sources trying to outdo themselves with ever increasing speculation. I say again, if all these negotiations are going on at the training ground then why do we not see photographs of all the parties going in and out. Given this appears to be the biggest story in UK sport for some ridiculous reason, there must be loads of photographers camped out at the training ground. Even that woudln't be evidence as we would still not know what they are talking about, but at least it would give the tabloids a better frame for their headline about these "crisis" talks. And while we are talking about nothing but this frenzy, obvious questions remain unexplored like:

> can Ronaldo and Bale actually play in the same team and

> should Real Madrid be punished for the way they have engineered this 'crisis'

and I'm sure others.

You know, Bale may even leave and RM may even pay the amount suggested, but that does not mean that any of this specualtion was based on someting the reporters themselves actually knew.

I think it's an excellent point you make about photographs. These are usually the smoke the media uses to light their fires.

Is this from Spurs'll Fix it?

Thankfully not using it's predecessor's presenter.

he value of jewels stolen in a dramatic theft in the French Riviera resort of Cannes has been raised to about 103m euros ($136m; £89m).

The Bale deal has been financed then. <cool>
