Average and unspectacular at LB i would say. He wouldn't warrant a place in our squad as a LB alone over Benny, Rose and Vertonghen IMO.
He's right footed which doesn't help at LB, i've never been a fan of that.
Not seen much of Shaw but he would definitely be behind him.
Seems a strange move, not only for Saints (unless you are selling Shaw) but for Naughton himself. I would imagine the best thing for him right now would be to go to a team where he would get regular games at RB

Naughton's a player that can do a job at left-back, but it's clearly not his true position and he never looks comfortable going forward from there.
We've barely seen him at right-back, but he seems fairly solid, if a little unspectacular.
He played 32 games for Norwich in the season before last and most of them were in his natural role, so you might be better off asking them about him. They liked him.

Solid is better than our current back up Danny Fox, who cost us points on at least 5 separate occasions last year, and those were just the ones I saw!

Cheers fellas, best of luck.

Without wishing to detract from talking about bowel movements...

Soldado is still on the agenda.

ITKs are claiming an announcement is due later - stay tuned (for the inevitable depressing news)

Which side is the announcement from? Spurs, Valencia or Liverpool?

Swindon have signed six players from Spurs so far - two permanent and four on loan. And they don't even have a manager!

What's going on here then??

We're forming a B team?

And on the announcement - no idea which side it's coming from - welcome to the world of sifting through the 99% BS that is ITK.

Although - rumour is Suarez is about submit a transfer request.

We need to get this done pronto - if Arsenal buy Suarez, Liverpool will have a wad of cash burning a hole in their pocket and we can probably instantly say bye bye to Soldado.

A quote from AVB in a Hong Kong press conference.

"At the moment, he's just one of the players we are interested in," said Villas-Boas at a press conference in Hong Kong.

"It's not a lie to anybody that we've been looking for a striker to strengthen our squad and to have more strength in depth.

Who is our next target then? Did Gomez move n the end?

Yeah - forget where. The fee was just £15m

Remy would be our next target who we have a hope of getting, if Soldado doesn't work out.

Basically - expect Liverpool to sign him - that way it'd be a win if we did.

Loads of ITKs are claiming that Soldado is considering handing in a transfer request and wants Valencia to compromise for a deal so he can move to us. I'm somewhat disinclined to believe this because I haven't seen any quotes. I also now feel a bit sorry for the Valencia fans as this is exactly the sort of thing we are going through with Bale, although it is a bit different in this case because we aren't using the Spurs version of Marca (indeed we don't have one) to do this sort of thing, its just journos in general.

Excellent news for us if true, if its not then my sympathies for Valencia fans for this approach to journalism thats probably pissing them right off, as it does us.

Our version of Marca would be our official magazine...if it was also a mainstream newspaper.

Don't have a go at me guys but I really can't believe Soldado would do that. Would you really hand in a transfer request to force a move from Valencia to Spurs? If anything they are the bigger club going on recent history with 2 champions league finals in the 00's and are the third most successful club in Spain. Unless its purely about him earning more money which would make sense.
