On the striker front, IMHO nothing will happen this summer. But I am more confident that with Baldini having had the time to really settle in, I believe his contacts network will be fully up and running, and from nowhere a decent striker akin to Michu will arrive in the Jan transfer window. In Adebayor and Defoe we must trust. And Obika needs to be playing as much Europa/League Cup fixtures as is possible.
I think we can see that because of The Open and The Test the media can't be bothered to make up transfer news atm. No doubt the rumours will start flying again next week. You never know what the truth is until something actually happens and Spurs often surprise us. Even if nothing else happens we should be alright. Until we draw at Selhurst Park that is.

A couple of media outlets, one French and one Dutch, are reporting that we've signed Nacer Chadli for £/€7m. We've been linked with him for a while, but his agent claimed that there hadn't been a bid received for him fairly recently, so I guess we'll have to wait and see whether it's true or not. It would be a pretty unsurprising signing, though.
Great signing if true. I'd actually prefer him to Bernard anyway. While Bernard seems the better prospect, I can't help but fee that someone like him would need a lot of time to adjust to the Prem. With Chadli, he's already had experience in a good European League and has European Competition experience (we should know, he bloody scored against us! ), he's 6ft 2, can speak English and will have Vertonghen and Dembele to further ease his bedding in period. Seems like a good match for us in my opinion, just hope these media outlets are correct.
just looked up chadli on wikipedia and it says he's played for morocco and belgium. Is that even allowed?
I think they changed the rules again a little while ago so that you could still change nations up until you play a competitive international. I know it's only Youtube but he looks like he's got some good skill and for £5-7mill he's not going to break the bank

They've undoubtedly demonstrated to their own satisfaction that Bale transfer rumors get hits and sell papers. It means nothing.
It would be bizarre if chadli wasn't a done deal now. - several media outlets making such a claim would look very stupid if it wasn't the case. However, nothing would surprise me...
Chadlis agent: "The midfielder will be signing for Spurs following a medical later on." That's from twitter so pinch of salt (read: truckload) He'll probably fail the medical and then sign for San Antonio Spurs basketball team.
Although I'm pleased we're signing Chadli - we've needed good wing cover for ages - I think this'll be the end for Townsend. Unfortunate as I think he's a good player.
