It's all been hit and miss hasn't it.

Every other decent club seems to have a plan and direction in which they are heading, they don't change the spine of their team every season either.

We need some proper stability and a plan or else we will slowly fade away from being a top 6 side and back to the bleak days of the 90s when 8th-14th and a cup run was the norm.

I've always backed Levy and ENIC but my patience has gone with them now as every transfer window they fail to invest properly in the team and only spend money which has been made from player sales and then seem confused as to why the team isn't progressing.

I think what we have not had since signing these players is a TEAM, I'm sure many would look much better in another team. Sigudrsen looks below par to me and Chadli is suspect but the others have yet to have much of a chance to shine. I have no doubt about Paulinho I think he is class but the others need time and most of all we need the team to develop. The fact that we are where we are in the league despite the performances suggests to me that we have a good collection of talent in need of a team.

More and more rumours that a bid of 15m has been accepted for the Ukrainian.

I have always backed the way the club has been financially run and this has led me to "forgiving" our stupid manager decisions over the past 12 years.

sacking bloke in a coat 10 days before a FA semi final v the goons was stupid.
putting hoddle in was a risk at best...his man management problems were very well known from Swindon, Chelsea and England
sacking hoddle and leaving pleat in charge was simply crazy
Santini...WTF????
Got lucky with BMJ
Treated him appallingly and ****ed up the start of the 2007/08 season as a result.
Ramos...proved to be a costly and very bad choice...
Harry ... excellent choice and I kind of get why they got rid of him after him turning down a contract, whoring himself to england and then demanding a new contract...
but FFS ... AVB??????
too early to judge on sherwood so jury is still out.
NOT A GOOD RECORD!!!!!

I understand that Carrick; Berbatov; Keane; Modric and Bale all demanded to go so they had no real choice but to sell...but I find it beyond stupid that we allowed AVB to spend that amount of money when we had no plans for the players.

£27m on a striker and AVB demand he completely changes how he plays and £30m on a player that he wouldn't play.

IMO Levy should be removed from having anything to do with the managerial and player recruitment side of things now. He is obviously good at selling and should spend the rest of his time sorting out a new ground

Agree with this. We've got great depth but with so many new players, changing systems and injuries/rotating their just isn't that cohesion you get at teams that have been playing together for awhile.

I feel there is more to this . Every player from midfield onwards bought in the last 2 years has not delivered.
Not really any stand out players all a much of a much.
The likes of Chelsea and City were in touching distance a couple of years ago, they
seem in another dimension today.

RCL, was if AVB who signed those players and spent that money, though? Or was it Baldini?

If AVB didn't want them he should have walked out but I was under the impression that he was keen on working with Baldini...whatever the truth is it don't half look like a king size cock up...what was the saying ... sold the king and bought the beatles? <doh>

I believe Baldini was behind most of the signings in terms of concluding the deals and recommending the players but Avb was in agreement about their arrivals.

If Avb had his complete way, we would have signed players like Moutinho and Hulk, or Guarin, players he knew from porto.

Not necessarily: Baldini wanted Benteke, AVB wanted Soldado.

Benteke started off the season superbly. But I'm sure he regrets missing the chance to link up with his fellow Belgium, Chadli.

LOL as soon as I heard his name I took an instant dislike. Although he hasn't done much on the pitch to win people over!

Also, there's talk Carroll and Livermore are likely to be recalled.

One "ITK" is saying that the Ukrainian bloke is done - €17.5m. Take that with a barrel of salt. It's probably a stitch up!
