You're not wrong. Exactly the sort of thing they'd do.

As a Spurs fan you learn to try and avoid transfer tarting :)
Spanish football bores the **** out of me, so i don't watch it either.

Apart from the fact we've already got at least one attacking midfielder we don't need, there's also the fact that Muniain is best employed in either a 433 or 4231.

We already made an error in signing Chadli under the assumption Sigurdsson would leave, now we'd need to sell both of them and change the formation to fit Muniain into the team!

Exciting player. One of those inside-forward types but can play off the striker too. Pretty sure he was dubbed the Spanish Messi when he first broke through, though most young players with a bit of skill get dubbed the new so-and-so these days.

This is Spurs, we love being overcrowded in certain areas while leaving other areas bone dry.

He was immense when Bilbao made it to the Europa League final a couple of seasons ago - yet he's pretty much overlooked by the Spain team.

Muniain sounds like the new Chadli or Siggy to me ;)

Unfortunately we're stuck with Chadli for the time being. :)

Surprised no one tried to sign Siggy. Holtby also here after the rumours. Thankfully Fletcher is still at Sunderland.

My explanation is that everyone knows we need a striker since Defoe signed for Toronto, somebody misread Iker Muniain as Striker Muniain, figured we'd probably be interested, published it as an ITK, and Marca picks it up in no time...

We have Adebayor and Soldado. If worrying, we have to have backup incase they get injured.

Although last year there was panic setting in if Bale got injured. Which never happened.

I'm happy to go with our current options and take that risk, rather then sign some fringe player from Italy or a journeyman looking for a club.

sorry if anyone's said it already, but there's talk of Holtby going to Dortmund.

As for Muniain, cracking little player. However, not a signing we need right now.

I would rather not sign anyone tbh...we ain't going to sign a player of VDV quality so I don't see the point.
I'd rather keep giving Lamela, chadli, Holtby, Soldado, siggy and townsend game time to see if they can fulfil their potential in the attacking third for the rest of the season. We really can't introduce yet more players to the team...they are only just beginning to fit together as a team

I can't help but think we need a Left Back as well as a striker for when Defoe eventually departs.

Must admit that the left back area does bother me...rose seems injury prone and it is our weak link at the back

Left back should be the first area we address IMO. It's the only position that we do not have experienced back up for and our 'first choice' is inexperienced and it seems injury prone.

Bizarrely, there's been hardly any rumours in this window about a new LB, which is concerning.

Yeah I'm in agreement, the only position we should focus on strengthening before adding numbers elsewhere is LB. Rose worries me at times and Fryers could do with a loan move to a Prem side as giving him the odd appearance here and there won't aid his development.

There was info from SC that Sherwood asked to scout Lee Wallace so we're looking at full backs but most business isn't done in January so I'll expect a left back signed this summer.
