I know! Imagine saying that! No more ITK from that source ever again! I know we can't know for sure what happened and how but the idea of Adebayor picking on the younger players seems bizarre, annoying and, unfortunately, has a precendent. Didn't he (allegedly) say to Bendtner, whilst we were giving Arsenal a thrashing one time or other and he came on as a sub, "I'm only on cos you're ****". I mean - true and everything but what is going through the mind of an experienced professional when they talk to one of the less senior players like that? I've played with loads of people I didn't care for much (not professionally, obviously) but when you're in a team, at any level, surely it's not that hard to not throw insults around at your team-mates. And I thought Kaboul had been dropped for being ****... It 's quite amusing, in a way, to think of Adebayor having a go at a young, inexperienced player for not putting in enough effort. Especially amusing that at some point someone can simply present the objective evidence of who run furthest/most intensely. Some people might just shut up and get on with it once the definite facts have come up and they've been proven wrong. Many don't though, I guess - and it seems that Adebayor may be one of them.
Just after I was talking about the younger lads outperforming the older ones. Christ, Ade! So much talent but he makes stupid decisions time and time again.
The younger lads are showing fight and desire and frankly, are putting the likes of Ade, Kaboul and Capoo to shame. Three players that haven't exactly shown us many positives this season by any stretch. And look at the performances of late... we've been turning a corner recently and the hiding we gave Chelsea is a clear display of unity amongst that group. Poch has mentioned that we need to change our mentality a lot recently and I think that boils down to a few bad eggs that needed to be filtered out of the squad. We all know Ade's bad lazy attitude has a negative influence. Kaboul's performances have been piss poor too and I can't exactly say Capoo has shown much to suggest he deserves his place in the team. If the three of them went, it wouldn't be a loss to me. A unified group will reflect in results on the pitch and that's what we have right now so if these guys need moving on for the reasons suggested in posts above, then so be it. Poch came to the club and early on, naively gave Kaboul and Ade the captain's and VC's armbands based on age and experience, hoping they'd be an example to the younger lads, not really knowing them fully. Ironically, it appears the young guns are setting a far better example and I respect the fact that MP isn't picking players based on reputations or salary but instead, on desire and attitude. I'm more interested in the January transfer window being the period we get the dead wood and bad eggs out of the club, over new signings as I have faith that MP will get the best out of the group of players we have, that really want to make a difference. A happy dressing room will show results on the pitch. That I am certain of. The sooner Ade is gone first and foremost, the better things will get in my opinion.
Strong rumour of Lennon to Leicester - stand corrected if wrong. Also Defoe to same club, not sure about about that either.
It does beg the question of why we got rid of Sandro though. Unless they ha no faith in his ability to stay fit.
I like the part where Poch compared Kane and Ade's stats, which showed Kane had been putting in the effort while Ade hadn't...so Ade kicks off a second time.
May have been due to his style of play. Sandro did tend to pick up cards easily and at times, was rash. I think he's looking to mould less combative midfielders but more that can mark and command that area with passing and movement better. Perhaps MP didn't see Sandro as that kind of player, regardless of his temperament.
Sandro's fitness could well be a factor in his sale, I mean how many minutes has he played for QPR this season? Interesting too that Verts seems to have turned a corner, attitude and performance wise despite many of our fears about his knuckling down under Pochettino.
I don't get it. Hang on - did you quote the wrong post? You talking about Vertonghen? That would make sense! (I was genuinely wondering if Defoe had been made to play left back in the MLS).
I can't help but assume that it must have been a huge factor. I hated him being sold but, come the end of the season and maybe next too we can see how many games he's been able to start and it may very well be proven that selling him was a good idea. Shame, though, cos he really is superb.
BBC Gossip" Spurs prepared to sell Lloris for 25 million." Can't we keep anybody for longer than two or three years?
The media have started their campaign against Tottenham already with The Sun claiming we're looking to cash in on Lloris for 25m. On my ITK hunt yesterday I did read that he's very happy with things at the moment...
Why would he want to leave a team that will have won 4 trophies by the end of the season!! Seriously though I think it will take much more than £25 million to buy him this summer. Probably a new world record for a GK which is currently about £32 million for Buffon a long time ago.
£25mill?! Behave, United paid close to that for De Gea back when he was rubbish. Double it and Levy will at least give them a call back to thank them for their interest.
Lloris not going anywhere, according to a club "spokesman" http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892...schief-making-lloris-sale-report?ICID=SP_TS_7
No problem with that and I won't be surprised if there's a host of teams in for him in the summer. I'll be surprised if we don't sell him. I'll also be surprised if Levy doesn't ask for a lot more than £25m though, if his form sticks.
