Benny's got a foot in the camp of each problem: too many non-HG players meaning there's no room for him in the squad, and being hard to move on because of this.
That's not the first time that rumour has come up. Lloris denied it last time, and I suspect it's just "join the dots up" journalism. Whinger is French, so therefore these fellow countrymen must want to be on the same side.
The L'Equipe article is about where the French national team's best players should be plying their trade in preparation for the 2016 tournament. It suggests that Lloris might get Champions League football at Arsenal, but that the transfer would be virtually impossible, for obvious reasons. The rumour pillocks ran with that and changed it into a real transfer.
In the next 2 days? (Or whenever the window actually ends) I don't want us to sign anyone this window unless we are picking up a contract expiry on the cheap like Ings. Even then it has to be the right price and wages considering a tribunal fee would be payable anyway.
The pineapple head guy that writes these is a gooner: http://metro.co.uk/2015/01/28/real-...sfer-swoop-for-tottenhams-harry-kane-5040553/
Didn't notice that. Used to write an Arsenal blog. Utterly hideous, too: please log in to view this image Typical disgusting Goon behaviour. Tossers.
And is if by incredibly slow magic: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30950970 The club really doesn't like to announce things quickly, does it?
Real Sociadad and Sevilla are supposedly battling it out for Capoue's signature. This would solve a couple of problems if it did go through, namely shifting some deadwood and freeing up a non-HG spot so we can address weaknesses elsewhere. Bentaleb and Stambouli are doing a much better job steeling our midfield and both have a bit more to their game, so he's expendable - and as there's two clubs supposedly after him, we can Levy the crap out of them!
It wasn’t so long ago Capoue was arguably our best player. Things change rapidly. If we can sell him for about what we paid for him, which wasn’t much, we should, I think. He’s definitely a player who can be very good for someone. His problem seems to be mental strength. This season he looked very good, perhaps partly due to Bentaleb, then seemed to lose interest, or motivation, or something. In any case, he hasn’t been close to the same player since, though he’s clearly talented.
Straight Mirallas for Lennon exchange, yes let's go ahead with as it's a much better deal for us than Everton. I cannot see Lennon settling there. Ings for Liverpool is the latest, that will suit me too as I just don't rate him.
I'm not sure things do change rapidly. Most players have good patches and bad patches. I reckon you need 100 matches to tell whether a player is any better than one of similar value. This is why I'm not happy with large transfer turnover and disagree that managers should be allowed to choose their own players. Don't draw conclusions on too little evidence.
