Thanks for your opinions about Townsend, so Lennon and who else? For me Lennon isn't an Albion type of player and Berahino just hasn't hit the headlights for me.

I wouldn’t think we will sell Paulinho, both because no one will give us half what we paid for him, and that with Bentaleb gone and two games a week for some time at least, we need all the players we have who can play deeper lying roles. I actually think Paulinho may be better further forward, but he can be good farther back. The ideal world would be for him to play frequently and up his transfer price in the summer.

An experiment I'd like to see is Dier as DM. He tackles about as well as anyone we have, he's mobile for a CB, he likes to get forward, and CBs like him have often turned into good DMs.

I haven't seen enough of him to assess his passing ability. If you remember Scotty Parker, he was great at covering the back 4 and at winning the ball in the tackle. The problem came once he was in possession, he usually gave it straight back to the opposition.

He wasn't doing much training when I saw him at the training ground. He seemed more interested in chatting up the bird on the reception desk.

I very much doubt it. He's no better now than he was 2 seasons ago and he was dodgy then.

Thought as much, was originally mystified why we signed him.

    That is him training.
He's building up for a shot at another z-list celebrity.

Fair point. I’m worried about Dembele in a deeper lying role, though. He’s excellent there against top clubs that attack, I think. But against teams that sit back, he has a tendency to slow the buildup to a standstill. I remember a game I saw at WHL where he dribbled five or six Swansea players en route from one side of the middle of the pitch to the other side of the middle of the pitch. He and Mason might be good, but he and Stambouli might not get forward enough. I like seeing Dembele as an attacking player, making those long dribbles in the penalty box and scaring defenders.

If he doesn't extend his stay at Boro, Vejlkovic can be used this way.

My friend is a huge Fener fan and has invited me to a Fener social club in Dalston a couple of times as well going up to Sheffield Utd in pre-season, so I've seen a small bit of Emenike. He's very powerful guy, has a decent strike rate and will cause defence problems with his movement. Not £15m+ worthy though in my opinion as he's not played in any of the major Leagues, I'd pay £10m tops.

Express reckon we've lodged an £8m bid for him so if there's any truth in that, I'd say that'll be good business for us.

Bringing back Velkjovic back would be a good idea if we can, I think.

Incidentally, guess which Spur is the sixth fastest man in the PL, in a dead heat with Raheem Sterling.

No, it’s not Walker.. Or Townsend. Or Kaboul.

Or Rose. It’s not even Lennon, or Eriksen. or Adebayor.

Would you believe Eric Dier, a burly young CB? Because I have trouble believing it myself. The funny thing is, I remember someone described him as slow. If he runs neck and neck with Sterling, not exactly.
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Sissoko-Premier-League-s-fastest-player.html

Sissoko is fastest, then Zaha, Wassilewski (?), Downing (!), Sterling, Dier.

A few years back it was revealed that Kaboul was faster than Bale or Lennon.

Don't suppose it's worth trying to loan in Dzeko for the rest of the season?

Jovetic will almost certainly be on his way.

Dzeko. Jovetic. Players who would make quite a difference to a PL top 8 side.
