I think its more that if we don't have a replacement lined up we will be forced to use Jaidi as manager.

 

They must have potential replacements lined up by now.

I hope they don't try to do things on the cheap, pay whatever it takes to get the right man in now, relegation will cost a hell of a lot more in the long run.

 

Bad result today and becoming too familiar.

Few points I've been thinking of re the team / manger situation. Not a rant, or wanting to create an argument, just putting them out there for what it's worth (sorry, not really match related so please feel free to move / ignore etc as desired):

1. Win ratio of MP2 is close to the worst of the bad managers in the last decade and a half. Different situations but still a worry.

2. I agree numbers don't tell the full story but if (IF) we do face a relegation battle this season, numbers are all that count.

3. I also agree with those that say football in the championship was more enjoyable. Although, last time we were in the championship we were mostly winning. Time before that was not so much fun.

4. I understand the call for MP2 to go. It's understandable considering the passion of the fans. However, I think every single manger since we have been back in the PL has raised similar questions at some time. I expect the board to have a clinical but more reasoned view.

5. If Puel went as he lost the players then most of those players are still here and hardly rewarding us on the pitch with their gratitude. Those same players will be here, baring Jan transfers, for any new manager so maybe they need a kick up the behind as much as any new manager sacking.

6. Also if buying a player in Jan is seen as desperation, what does that say about getting a new manger, and the calibre we would attract.

I think the board may feel they have to give MP2 the push, but I don't envy them. All I can do is trust the board, continue to grumble under my breath when we lose, and keep supporting Saints through thick and thin.

I honestly can not think of the reason to play Long. He runs around and unsettles defenders defenders but what else? We have obafemi, Johnson and afolabi in the youth teams that would willingly run around and are fast, play one first half then sub at half time for another, at least they know how to score
