Surely Les can't continue to bury his head in the sand and pretend that it's all going to be fine. Whether we get a manager for the short term or long term might depend on who is available or if we are willing to spend money to try and get the manager we want even if he's currently employed. Seems unlikely, but one thing we don't know is how much money the new owners are willing to spend. That goes for the acquisition of a new manager and indeed the January transfer window.

 

Any news if the new owner has actually been attending games? Kath always got a few seconds of screen-time to confirm her attendance, but I haven't seem a smidgen of the new fellow.

As far as I'm aware, he's been to two games: United and Arsenal (both at home)

 

To the best of my knowledge, he has attended Man Utd and Leicester at home, and Bmouth away. Maybe others, but I'm not aware if so.

My point being, if you have a leader that isn’t respected, then people with questionable attitudes will play up (and like a virus, that spreads). Even wanting to leave, he’d have played well for MP1.

 

The game was lost as soon as our team sheet went out. That defence is never going to hold out against a good PL attack. We need a new manager, a new CB when VD goes, backup right back (or play Pied), a new striker and someone who can play right wing and up front (yes, you Walcott). But yeah, the last half hour gave me a bit of hope, it could have gone a lot worse but we kept playing and creating chances.

FWIW - I have heard that the majority of players are behind Pellegrino, and believe in his ideas. This was from the big meeting that took place with Les & Co. The players don't seem to have completely given up on him, yet.

 

Strangely I thought we were better today than against Huddersfield. And we were pretty crap today.

 

Of course, all of this disappointment and bad results is self inflicted. The Board recruitment took their eye off the ball.

 

Again, the team selection against Huddersfield consigned us to disappointment. By starting Davis & Redmond over Boufal & Hojbjerg in a game we needed to and should be able to win was stupidity. I just don't understand the thinking behind it.
