I can't believe how positive you all are. The result is pretty flattering. We barely turned up. On another day this could've been embarrassing. This performance is a giant step back. Chelsea, Soton and Spurs have all confidently outplayed us.
Well it's the truth, every time they play us it's their world cup final, and if they win, it's time to roll out a DVD, you can bet they will be talking about this victory for years and years, the time they beat Arsenal 2-1 with so much drive and commitment. So let them enjoy it, come May, they'll end up somewhere 5th or 6th, as usual. I'm guessing if Chelsea beat them in the final of the micky mouse cup, that will be the start of their downfall.
Blimey! 23 shots to 7. 8 on target to 3. 10 corners to 3. Your goal was offside! You had more yellow cards and more fouls yet a draw would have been 'fair'
How many of those shots were proper clear cut chances? Our goal wasn't offside, and the yellows against us were a joke.
It's not really a step back Not really a giant step. It's how we've played most of the season. The past few games have just blinded us to the mediocrity and lack of fight that is still bubbling beneath the surface.
No...chelsea 5-3 and getting to wembly are the best moments of our season so far...if we win a cup that will be the moment of the season. You all think we are ****...yet you were outplayed from the 1st minute til the last....and are now behind us You lot spent £ 74m in the summer and £16m in jan .... 90 million spent and you are worse than last season... And you mock us
I think Spurs showed they wanted it more today. Pretty disappointed with the lack of incisiveness from us. The game plan was okay, but we just lacked any sort of danger. The amount of pressure we were trying to soak up was always going run the danger of conceding. Anyway, you have to give credit to Harry Kane, scored two good goals today. So enjoy your moment.
I disagree, the fact that Spurs had so much of the ball and so much drive makes it look like they were outstanding, no they did that because we allowed them to, and that was our game plan, for all their shots, passing, they didn't create that many actual clear cut chances.
I thought he'd be a Premier League player and could do a job for us, but he's been amazing this season. I just hope that he can keep improving, giving 100% all the time and he's not rushed into the England squad. Let him get tournament experience with the U21 side with Berahino and Ings up top.
Didnt see the match but these stats cant be right surely... http://www1.skysports.com/football/live/match/313625/stats Was it really that one sided??
That's bollox tbf. 2nd best on every stat: http://www.sportinglife.com/football/live/match-stats/313625/tottenham-hotspur-v-arsenal I'd still back Arsenal to finish above Spurs after 38 games though, especially given the remaining games. The Cty game apart, Arsenal's poor results against the bigger teams have let them down again this season ( i know saint's should be in that table but can't be arsed. Someone else can do it if they want): Played W D L Pts Man city 9 4 4 1 16 Chelsea 8 4 3 1 15 Spurs 8 3 2 3 11 Man Utd 6 3 2 1 10 Arsenal 8 1 4 3 7 Liverpool 6 1 2 3 5 Everton 7 0 3 4 3
Let's see who laughs come end season, ;-), as for spending money, over the last 5 years you lot have spent more than us, heck why not got back further, over the last 10 years you have spent more than us, so why only bring up this summer rather than look at the overall context? As I said, enjoy your win, I know for a team consistently in our shadow moments like these are to savour for your insecure club with a chip on it's shoulder, ;-), we will be in the top 4 as usual come end season....Maybe you can enjoy the micky mouse cup.
Spurs were as good as they needed to be to get the result, they will still be fighting for a top 4 finish with us at the end of the season that's for sure
No doubt, but in the end, I think it will be us and you getting those top 4 spots. Spurs will fall again.
4th, . We lost, it's not the end of the world, we're still only shy off the top 4, we have been in worse positions before in regards to top 4. Have a great chance of winning the main domestic cup in England, and still in Europe, where anything can happen with some nice favourable draws again for us (Porto, Juventus etc). So there's still a lot to play for, and a long way to go, we have finally started picking up some form despite this loss, and many players are finally getting back from injury. For Spurs this as good as it gets, they are hitting the ceiling, they can't punch any further, and the Q is whether they can keep this up? Me thinks no.
no we had that against Chelsea all these comments about us shading it today..it was a close match etc etc...classless. 56% to 44% possession 23 shots to 7 8 on target to 3 ill take 'shaded' it all day long.
