Why do we have to win something to show we are better than Arsenal. Winning the league means being better than Arsenal, but also better the Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea. A very tall order for either North London team at the moment with the resources available. Surely finishing above them for 3 or 4 years would confirm that we are better than them? Equally finishing 1 place above them is enough to show we've had a better season than them, why does it have to be significantly above? With Arsenal being a top 5 team, there isn't much scope for being that many places above them?

Big IF at the moment? On paper you should be contesting 2nd easily but you are 4th for a reason and surely that won't resolve itself until the team is better managed than it is now (either getting the team behind Rafa or under a different manager).

The only slight positive i can take from that game is that Jenkinson was excellent again.

    Not much consolation..

Looks like one Spurs fan has gone and riled up a lot of Gooners here. My personal highlight was this corker from 87...

In all seriousness though, I think you Arsenal fans have gone a bit over the top if you read it back again. Throwing around terms like "power shift", "mind the gap" and even the talk of Arsenal being a one man team last season was all just part of the fun and as you've since shown it's wound you up no end. Yeah some believe it on the Spurs side but most that I know use terms like "power shift" with a great deal of tongue in cheek, it's certainly not meant like Arsenal fans interpret it.

Firstly, a shift indicates a sudden movement and our catching you up has taken a long while so clearly that's an exaggeration. Secondly, Spurs fans aren't saying everything's switched and that we're now the team winning all the trophies and you're the midtable side, the "power" has simply changed from being heavily weighted in Arsenal's favour to even. We're also not talking about the size of the clubs switching so talking about trophies, bigger stadiums and higher revenue is missing the point.

As for the 10 man stuff, which is one of the strangest arguments I've ever seen. Arsenal played 65 minutes with a man less whilst we played for 70. You conceded 2 and scored none at home in that time whilst we conceded 5 and scored 1 in that time away from home. Maybe I'm missing something but I don't think either side should be crowing about anything concerning these 2 games...

Because otherwise you're just another team around us that sometimes beats us, but usually loses. DL is right to point out that it's more of a power loss from us than any power shift that you've engineered. The last time you finished above us 16 years ago you were 7th, it was only because we had a horror season that you finished above us.

Arsenal's usual standard is a notch above Spurs, we're not performing to that standard and it's making you look good. Take yesterday as a prime example, we handed you two goals on a plate. Other than that, Spurs didn't look anything special.

An on form Arsenal are streets ahead of an on form Spurs, and that's why to demonstrate that you're anywhere near overtaking us you would have to consistently finish above us and win trophies over the next decade at least.

Dear oh dear. Bale missed from a couple of yards after another swift attack sliced through your right flank and Sigurdsson had a great chance too whilst Bale also hit a volley sweetly from outside the area when, which fortunately for Szczesny went straight to him and Defoe had a good shot go just wide too. Arsenal had a Walcott freekick which Lloris had covered and Ramsey had a decent chance that he missed but it was a fortunate own goal that got you back into the game. We weren't at our best and still comfortably picked you off. If you really want to believe an on form Arsenal is so much better than an on form Spurs then fine, it'd be interesting to know who you blame for the inability of your team to play well in any big game this season, as well as a fair few lesser games.

Blah blah . . .and Walcott's free kick could have gone in on another day and we had a chance to make it 2-2 shortly after we scored, Ramsey also had a chance and Podolski could have scored if his first touch was better.

We could go on ? But it won't change the result. We handed you two goals on a plate and we were pretty ineffective up front. The result was down to Arsenal's poor performance, not Spurs' superiority.

Surely this game is in the past now, so the thread can be closed?

Yeah Walcott's freekick could've gone in on another day if he hit it perfectly but Lloris was closer to covering the post than the ball was to going in, it was no closer to going in than Defoe's shot. So anyway who do you blame for your vastly superior side failing to deliver on Sunday, or simply over the course of the whole season that has not seen you streets ahead of us like you say you should be?

I blame Wenger. Man for man I believe our players possess far more talent than yours barring the centre backs, but Wenger hasn't been getting it done in making them play like a team, and has been terrible in setting them up defensively, so we fall apart.
