Nice to see another youth player coming on, but I'm not sure why Chiriches is the one going off. Hasn't played for quite a while, I guess.
Chiriches gets a deserved hand. That tackle/pass to Paulinho for the second was outstanding. Good evening in the sense that players who had looked disappointing redeemed themselves: Paulinho, Kane, Townsend.
Hull are out. Resting players for the league appears to have cost them. Silly, for me. No European football for Dawson.
Also a shame for Spurs. If Hull had Europa football then perhaps we could have got some Academy kids to them on loan.
Job done. No apparent injuries, some decent performances, getting a lot of players used to the new system and a few goals to boot. Only downside was their keeper going off with a blow to the head. Hope he's ok. Squad looks pretty good. Vorm and Fazio to come into contention and Walker to return from injury and we'll have a lot of depth. Be interesting to see if we can keep everyone til the window's closed and then keep them happy after that.
No complaints about the overall performance. Hope Pochettino will ditch the "inverted winger" nonsense when Lennon and Townsend are playing. Sandro / Paulinho / Vlad put a shift in, which hopefully will remain the case all season.
Maybe I should set my sights lower as we are falling short by what I think we should be getting but had Kane scored the penalty and not missed a good chance well we'd be there. Sad for Hull.
"Maybe I should set my sights lower as we are falling short by what I think we should be getting" That was a 4-0 / 5-0 performance in spirit.
congrats all round to the Spurs. Don't overwork your lads, hoping you will stuff the [Scousers] on sunday
That's why we're top of the league. In this kind of form I expext us to be top of our group alphabetically after the draw tomorrow. We look very strong for a second 11 out tonight, we probably could stand to sell a couple of them but I wouldn't want to choose who that would be to go. I will say that I still think it'd be a mistake to sell Sandro, Holtby or Townsend.
Ok cracker and yes RDBD it was. I still get concerned over how many we miss. Had it been 4-0 I'd have wanted a 2-0 come Sunday but a one goal win would suit me.
Lennon showed no pace this evening. Just back and unfortunately have to say it was a pretty bad atmosphere. especially once we were coasting. Read through the comments and it's interesting how things must seem different when you see the whole pitch and not just the TV screen. Lots of moves broke down with Paulinho- apart from the assist and goal he wasn't great. Townsend was better than Lennon. Kane was good showing good dribbling and ball control. Defence was solid and everyone helped out which was pleasing. Once we scored the second goal there was no contest and the players were just resting. Don't forget this was essentially a second team so overall very good.
Haven't seen anything yet, just read comments. Above all exceptionally happy that Sandro seems to have had a good enough game, I would really hate for him to be sold, anyone associated with Spurs knows he's a real character, and was second only to Bale as our best player for a couple of seasons. I do like how Bentaleb had progressed in the last year but if it's a question of him vs Sandro (in his prime, if that's still possible) then I would always pick the Brazilian Man/Mountain.
