Bit harsh on Kane KH. Not good enough penalty taker granted but I think he's a good squad player to have and he's English!
Kane's really got to pass that to Paulinho. Unlucky with the shot, as it could easily have come back to the Brazilian.
I think Kane will be a bit selfish now until the first goal is scored by Spurs. You can see it that he wants to redeem himself for the penalry miss.
Paulinho wrongly called offside. Might have spared him some embarrassment, as he then slipped. As did Sandro earlier. Brazilians need to change their shoe wax. Dembele looking good so far. Most of the team up and down. Bad pass by Naughton, I think, leads to a break.
Agreed, PNP. They should go to their normal sides. We are looking for pragma over dogma from Pochettino.
Of all the players that have been linked away Dembele is the one I'd like us to keep the most. He is useful to bring on as he doesn't give the ball away often and is normally good against the better teams.
The politics of who takes the free kicks continues to elude me, for the most part. Then again, Lamela had a couple of excellent corners, so all the decisions aren't bad. I really want Paulinho to do well, but it's not happening so far. On the other hand, Dembele has been excellent, and Townsend has been good after the first few minutes. Kane stopped dead in the middle of a good move. Good sportsmanship, but I wonder how many others would have done the same.
This has brought me down to earth as I expected to be one or two ahead by now. Baffling line up for me.
Looks like a couple of big sides have crashed out already. Lyon have been eliminated by Astra Giurgiu. Yeah, them... Real Sociedad have lost 3-0 on the night and 3-1 on aggregate to FC Krasnodar. Hull, on the other hand, have leveled things up with an early goal.
