It's a very fair question...especially if we're in for Traore. Like Pape Sarr, he looks like one for the future, rather than right now.
That much? Can't believe that Daniel gives more 10% to anyone. And Hugo will only know when he sees it in the deductions on his next wage slip.
If we win tonight he should get plenty of game time in these European matches and maybe if he plays well he will get opportunities in the league. As you say Traore makes little sense from where I sit, we have 4 (5 if you include Sessegnon) wide players, for 2 places in the team and that is well covered in my opinion. An actual striker, a playmaker, a right back and a quality centre back should all be on the list before more wingers.
He looks a talent and may progress more quickly but we've got players to fill those positions...but between him and the up front payment for Sarr, we must be looking at the cost of a decent first team option up front. Patson Daka only cost Leicester £23m and he's three times the player that Traore could ever dream of being. We've spent months pursuing Martinez and Vlahovic and got nowhere near them, whilst all the players that we could have had a chance of signing have gone elsewhere...so, there's a good chance that we end up with Traore at £40m? There's bound to be a BIG name in the final week that we don't quite get over the line....and then Traore will turn up on deadline day, just like like Sissoko did. It's all too familiar.
I hope to see Gil feature more as the season progresses, don't expect him to be a starter any time soon but there were flashes last Thursday of how exciting he can be, poor guy was surrounded by a 17 year old striker, a LWB who'd just returned from injury (and done okay in the second half, thought he and Gil were the only positives) and backed up by Winks and Lo Celso, he was doomed from the off really but giving him minutes off the bench to play alongside Kane, Son and co... Yes please! Watford on Sunday could be a great chance for that too. It's also another reason not to want Traore as well, he'd only add another obstacle in Gil's progression and it's not like it'd be worthwhile either, if we signed a quality wide player to compliment Son on the other side I wouldn't mind but Traore...? No. Just no.
