I tend to agree with Moorpheus and Superal. Although the games will be tough, there's a balance of home and away games. Also the majority of sides we're playing against like to play football. - this will work mssively in our favour, even on the road. too many teams this season have come to the lane and decided to "park the bus". It's infuriating, but we've got to work out a method of breaking them down as it's only going to get harder towards the end of the season when the sides at the bottom are scrapping for points. it's been said in another thread; set pieces are an absolute must. - it's like a part of our game we've got a genuine disadvantage with for 90 mins! apparently Samba was left out of the Blackburn squad today.....
I'd tip Newcastle for a win, which will leave Pool in 7th place for the time being. Marvellous. They really are an inspiration to us all. I'm surprised he played Parker today- didn't think he looked 100% and tired drastically in the last 10 minutes. Thought Jake did a brilliant job against Everton... Hopefully today's result will bring us back down to earth somewhat. All the title talk and sudden mass media attention to that effect got me nervous. Only one team in the PL has the ability to cope with sustained pressure. Lidls knows who im talking about... Anyways- onwards and upwards. I sincerely believe we'll do very well over the coming weeks. Chelsea looked very shaky again, Liverpool are there for the taking. We know we can beat Le Scum & are have been due a win at OT since the beginning of most major religions... COYS
Fitted in seemlessly to Wolves' kicking style of mistackling. Not one for the Arsenal purists me thinks.
He should've been sent off, then made several more fouls before he got pulled by McCarthy, SNIAW. He needs to learn when to make a challenge and when to stay on his feet. Athletic, quick, strong and aggressive, but he didn't play much football, so it's hard to judge how good he is at it. Playing for Wolves should allow him to improve on the defensive area of his game, but he won't get much time on the ball, so he'll have to learn a different style when he returns.
At the beginning of the season ALL the predictions for the top 3team involved chelsea, united and city with liverpool and arsenal fighting for 4th. Today was yet another point in our fight for a top 4 finish We have played 6 prem and 1 cup game in the past 23 days...and aint lost any...who else can say the same. we have seen chelsea arsenal united liverpool and city all lose all draw and all play badly. We are doing ok...coys
Very well said, Colin. Frustrating, but we can't argue with our current progress or position, can we?
Defensively we're quite solid. Since the Stoke "game" *shudder*, we've conceded just 3 goals in 9 matches- all with constantly rotating CB partnerships. Fast-forward to our next match, when Ade (who's been fantastic in every area apart from the goalscoring department). I for one am looking forward to seeing a fresh approach with a bit of variety against City- but what?!? The thought of keeping our current system and playing Pav as a lone striker makes me queasy. But then again, playing 4-4-2 with Pav and Defoe also makes me queasy b/c the two never clicked AT ALL as a partnership, and we'd be left with zero options on the bench. New striker please, Arry and Daniel. Pretty please.
Don't know if anybody else agrees, but our confidence and belief that we will always get a result means that we don't seem to start quickly anymore. I know teams present us practically two banks of 5 to break down, but our up and at 'em approach caught a lot of sides cold before they had a chance to settle. We seem to let the opposition find their feet and THEN go to work now.
Very true. I don't think anyone's getting on the players back about it, naturally it's frustrating to draw in that manner though.
No, it wasn't. He wasn't the finished article and he grew a lot in the time that he spent there. Didn't have the required effect off the pitch though, unfortunately for your lot.
to be honest with you PNP, i don't think another defender is the priority right now. However, I know fans on here are torn on this and would say we do. at least Samba's gonna give us something from corners. It's painful how bad we are.
Our delivery is terrible. It's almost like we've given up on them. Our set-pieces desperately need to be addressed.
Last time he was here, Kaboul scored from quirte a few corners as I recall, so I dont think its the blokes in the box thats the problem. VDV clearly needs to be stood outside the area ready to hit a clever shot when the ball comes out...
I blame Lidls. He's been predicting poor results for us and now he's picked a win. He's cursed. Burn him.
Very good points PNP. In addition, free kicks. - do the players even know who's taking it? or is it like a school team where each of them fight to take it until the others give up and say "go on then, you take it, but I want the next one". we've gotta try something new here. even if kaboul just hits the dam thing and we try to grab a rebound. anyway, I shall say no more, this has been spoken about at length in another post. priority for me is another striker, but the marquee striker that actually belongs to us. us fans have waited over a year now and we've got to push on!
