No TMT, the exclamation mark on the end lightens the tone of any sentence, if it were followed by an angry smiley I might share your view!

Its the same as saying a penalty 'should' be an advantage, some are saved we know that, but in its basic form its an advantage, a free hit. 10 men is the same, it 'should' be an advantage, but going by your link 1 in 10 or worse play well, a point no body has disagreed with, but are all aware of. Whether the advantage is utilised or not is a separate issue.

He told AVB he'd have the day off cos a team having no strikers is not a disadvantage. (See Spain last year and France when they won the Euros years ago). In the past teams have won whilst having an outfield player in goal so Lloris was going to join him down the arcades and we were gonna stick Aaron Lennon in goal but at the last minute it all changed. I have no idea why. AVB didn't think that having a 5' 5" right winger in goal would be a disadvantage did he? Surely not! I saw a team in 1974 win a game with...

I noticed at the time that the TV pictures made Ade look absolutely emotionless as Dempsey's goal went in v City. In fact he raised his hand to his face. Not necessarily a "Oh bloody hell" gesture but certainly not a celebratory one. You'd think he'd be happy to be getting his win bonus at least wouldn't you?

    How long's his contract for?

Well that's the final nail in the coffin.

    Good riddance Adebayor!

I am confident he won't ever play for us again.
If he does this season, it's one hell of a risk as he's probably got some personal agenda now. His selfishness against arsenal has already cost us once this season.

Keep him as far away from the team as possible now please Andre!

I've agreed with that for two seasons now Roo. I feel I have a bit of a knack as to who would be good for us and who not,it's not infallible but I can rely on it most of the time. I can't make up my mind about Benteke, but I like the sound of Ince and the Spanish player. If I had to choose between Benteke or Lambert who we've been linked with I'd take Benteke I think.

I agree TMT, you've made your opinions known and you've made some great shouts whilst others have condemned you! <laugh><ok>

I've always been a fan of the transfer window, as being a spurs fan it sucks you right in. Over the years, I've also gained an understanding of who will work as a "spurs player" and I seem to be able to pick a few out. Unfortunately, we never sign the players I mention!

I like the look of Tom Ince, but my worry is that it could be an example of another gylfi/dempsey type. reasonably cheap, and doesn't quite deliver. I'm sick of us spending a fair chunk of cash, when we could spend that little bit extra, getting more for our money and not taking such a risk. There has to be a reason why he didn't make it at Liverpool and no one else in the prem snapped him up?

Benteke is just what we need. But his value is now probably about £20million, so again what happens? do we actually spend the money on someone who's young, got 18 prem goals (so far) and is the number 9 we need? or once again are we going to gamble on a bargain and it not pay off?

If anyone is desperate to re-watch this game, I have a copy that requires a "special" media player. PM me and I'll stick it up.

Same as that. I only caught the last 25 minutes of the game live and haven't even seen all the goals yet. It's not an enjoyable time to watch us play...

I didn't know I'd been condemned Roo,that's putting it a bit strongly but I have had my share of criticism I'll agree. I can only concur with what you post but would prefer somebody from a higher team than Villa to choose from. Because Remy chose Hoops I've gone right off him. Now a player from Dortmund or Real etc would suit us a lot better.

perhaps criticism would have been a better word, but you know what I meant <ok> Same has happened to me, it wasn't a dig. :)

The trouble with anyone from Real or Dortmund is that they just aren't realistic now. Dortmund are showcasing themselves to the world right now with their fantastic displays in the CL. We can't even get in the CL regularly, so IMO we wouldn't be more appealing.
Real are huge. Unfortunately, I don't see us getting anyone from the unless it's part of the Bale deal where we can call the shots. Higuain is certainly a possibility as he's out of favour, but only as part exchange for Bale. we couldn't afford to buy him outright.

I keep reading that Real Madrid are the weathiest club.Yet I also read that they and Barcelona are given(?) lots of dollar lolly from the Spanish government.
    No.1 Why?..and for what?
No.2 Aren't the Spanish government broke?
No.3 Can Spurs get a handout of a billion or two from the British government for nothing too?

Barca got far less than madrid and of late Real have cut back ties. Stems from two things. Number 1. Madrid was Franco's team. The dictator gave out huge govt loans in the form of bonds linked to madrid's performance before moving on to athletic. They dropped the crown from their emblem and even installed Franco's top general as their equivalent of Levy. It's all pretty dodgy... 2. Madrid then continued to use govt funding and over the last 10 years or so have just extended the loan repayments linked to partially owned govt banks (long gone are the days of the treasury bonds or loans), because let's be honest, in Spain, which bank wants to be responsible for the demise of Real madrid. It'd be suicide. But nothing technically unscrupulous has happened for a long time. And many madrid fans claim they didn't have much choice in the matter concerning franco.

Concerning your third point, we too are getting cash injections from both harringay council and the mayor's office for "development" purposes so it's much the same. Hammers, arse, and chavs all applied for these things too.
